AVATAR land - the specifics

I think the plants look really awesome, but will there be any animal exhibits in the land? My audio is working so idk if they said anything?

Yeah, I love overall what they seem to have done, but I think they missed the boat if they didn't include some animal "exhibits" that you could enjoy like the trails in other parts of the park. Or a "Discovery Center" as someone else suggested.

I agree.
They really should have AA animals partially hidden from view, that we could get a glimpse of.
Perhaps magic band enabled, (unknowingly to the park goer) or simply timed to pop up and recede at different times.

A discovery center would be a brilliant idea. I just cannot fathom how they wouldn't include any animal exhibits. I get the whole we are on another world, but mabye we have some species that would "at home" in Pandora that could be in a Discovery Center to see how well they adapt as the story.

On the one hand- I agree- AA animals sound like a wonderful idea. But it leads me back to thinking about Jurassic Park over at IoA.

They used to have a Triceratops encounter where it was a walkthrough of an animal in a paddock- and it got pulled because it was boring and just wasnt anything anyone wanted to see. They now have "Raptor Encounter"- but that uses a human puppeteer- so you have a human element- and it also comes out sparingly. Maybe interactivity in Pandora would make it where it's more repeatable than a traditional animal encounter?
But then that leads to another issue- and again we can look to JP as an example. On Jurassic Park River Adventure- the latex skins used on the AA dinosaurs have to be repaired weekly and replaced annually. Simply put- they fare poorly outside- this is why we hardly ever see it. It's a maintenance nightmare- particularly in open paths where you'd need to fence off surrounding areas for repair. At least on JPRA you can shut down the ride for maintenance and repair.

Again- I think it's a great idea- but in reality, it is impractical, boring and is more enjoyable in our minds. But here I sit, after saying all of that, wishing that Jurassic Park had Dinosaurs and Pandora had Creatures everywhere :hilarious:

I understand.
My idea was for creatures more obscure, sort of hidden away.
Perhaps natural looking cover could have been utilized to afford them some protection from the elements.
Maybe even something that rises from or comes out of an unseen door, or trap door of some type.

I enjoyed it, but people wanted more of a coaster. I think if they had a more Mummy-esque roller coaster between the drop and first show scene and a little more backwards coaster before the second scene, people would be nuts over it.
yeah, the lack of proper finale was the part that killed that thing.
I mean, they could have extended it a bit and made a final big drop as you "crashed" trough the gringott's bank walls and towards the floor as the dragon escapes..
