They are a different kind of crane. They are taking the cranes down at Volcano Bay.
You can drop a boom crane in a matter of an hour of so. Not so much for a tower crane.

They are using 2 tower cranes at Cabana Bay. We have a chance of 125 mph winds. They are a different kind of crane.

Do you have a pic? I was by there last week and saw only boom cranes and every picture I can find again only shows boom cranes. They are using 2 tower cranes at Cabana Bay. We have a chance of 125 mph winds.
From what I read the one they took down was a tower crane. They are a different kind of crane.

I must have completely missed the thing, but in all fairness I was not exactly looking at the construction equipment. From what I read the one they took down was a tower crane.

So they're just being overly cautious? Maybe the crane was in a position too close to the volcano to move freely with wind?I must have completely missed the thing, but in all fairness I was not exactly looking at the construction equipment.
Hard to say. My knowledge of the things is 99% academic 1% experience so I feel quite confident that they are a better judge of what to do than I.So they're just being overly cautious? Maybe the crane was in a position too close to the volcano to move freely with wind?

There are 2 red tower cranes in that pic. One behind each hotel towers under construction.Taking a close look at the earlier Volcano Bay pics, there wasn't a tower crane there. There is a large boom crane which someone might have mistaken for a tower crane in some pictures.

might recommend you get an ACME brand umbrella just in case.Well if the floating mountains can survive this, I suppose I'll get over my fear of walking under them . . . .
(I'll walk under them, just joshin')
they could also add a different scene.disco Na'vi ?
Thinking the same thing. If the floating mountains survive this they should be good.Well if the floating mountains can survive this, I suppose I'll get over my fear of walking under them . . . .

OMG. I totally forgot about those majestic Floating Mountains. Please don't fall. Avatarland has made so much progress. I will never forgive Matthew if they do. I'll be keeping a very close eye on this.
If those mountains fall -- Disney may not put them back up and that will totally will mess up everything. Also, this is the first major delay in construction. People need to be realistic with the timeline.
