You can drop a boom crane in a matter of an hour of so. Not so much for a tower crane.

They are using 2 tower cranes at Cabana Bay. We have a chance of 125 mph winds.
Do you have a pic? I was by there last week and saw only boom cranes and every picture I can find again only shows boom cranes.

Hard to say. My knowledge of the things is 99% academic 1% experience so I feel quite confident that they are a better judge of what to do than I.

Yeah, it looks like they took down the one for Volcano bay, but at least one is still up at Cabanna Bay. Maybe the one just wasn't rated for the winds they are predicting.

Taking a close look at the earlier Volcano Bay pics, there wasn't a tower crane there. There is a large boom crane which someone might have mistaken for a tower crane in some pictures.

There are 2 red tower cranes in that pic. One behind each hotel towers under construction.

Yes, those are the ones for the hotel and are still up. I was referring to the report that the one near the volcano was taken down, but it appears that there was never a tower crane there.

Yeah, seeing even less on NOAA, this would tomorrow around 2, they show 59 knots, about 68 mph between 2 to 5, then it diminishes.

So does this hurricane mean Disney won't have to spend time testing everything to be hurricane proof? At first I was joking but it seems like it could be logical
OMG. I totally forgot about those majestic Floating Mountains. Please don't fall. Avatarland has made so much progress. I will never forgive Matthew if they do. I'll be keeping a very close eye on this.
If those mountains fall -- Disney may not put them back up and that will totally will mess up everything. Also, this is the first major delay in construction. People need to be realistic with the timeline.

The mountains aren't going to fall, no worries. Gusting winds in Orlando right now are only 30-35 mph. They're just getting a good soaking,
