Notice in Enfilm's blueprints that NRJ and FoP each feature two separate long, winding queue paths. This would seem to indicate that both Fastpass and standby will have a similar amount of things to see in the queue (unlike, say, EE, where the FP queue misses a lot).
FastPass for the Soarin ride will bypass most of the detailed queue.

Yep, I noticed that as well and view it as a positive development. Though I'd expect people entering the FP+ queue to go through it relatively quickly since that is the nature of the FP+ concept ("get on the quickly"). But having the option of being able to go through a queue at a desired pace to appreciate the theming without being stuck waiting for a standby line to move seems pretty intriguing to me.

Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland and Dinosaur at DAK are in the "slightly under four minutes" category, for example. The major difference, however, is that those are fast-paced thrill rides, so you go through more track / past more scenes in that time compared with a slow boat ride with the same ride time. That's the real concern, I think.
@Marc Davis Fan, yeah, those definitely "feel" more substantial. While there may be no thrills necessarily in NRJ, it should have more eye candy than anything we've seen. I know Pirates is longer than what NRJ is to be, but in terms of eye candy and immersion, there's a feeling that you're sailing for a long time. My gut thinks my mind o_O will be tricked into thinking it's a 10 minute immersive experience from entry to exit.

There will still be an important pre-show for that ride, though, right? And that would be something that all riders would experience, I would think.
Yes. Standby goes through 4 detailed preshow rooms (think Star Tours) until the queues merge at the exit of the 4th. Groups are then split to go up or down to one of three preshow and load floors to watch the safety video and get the glasses.

Think very much how Simpsons at Uni works in terms of multiple levels, ramps, corridors and multiple preshow rooms.

Guess it depends how much there is to see. I mean, on Living with the Land, for much of the beginning of the ride, the scenes you are seeing are not fully immersive (as in there is a scene that takes up much of your field of vision if you look directly at it, but there is nothing if you look up or on the other side of the boat). From the (limited) on ride footage that we've seen, it appears that Na'vi River will create a full 360 degree environment. While the action may be focused in one direction, it at least seems that there will be "stuff" to look at no matter what direction you are looking (no areas intentionally left black). I'm hoping it's filled with lots of neat little details so that you can spot something new each time you ride. Additionally, in such an environment you can move a bit slower simply because there is so much to take in... again, this is just my hope for this attraction...

4 minutes, to me, isn't an issue. It's what they do with that four minutes that matters. If it's immersive, I don't think the length should be held against it. I'd love a longer ride but for me it's what they do with it.

I agree. Not everything needs to be an 8 minute or longer experience. You could almost make that argument with every ride ever made. This isn't a long enough dark ride, this first coaster hill isn't tall enough, this parade could stand to have another float, and on and on. If this is as immersive as I expect it to be, it will be a fully satisfying experience.

4 minutes is an issue only because we've seen the Shanghai Pirates ride. If this is 4 minutes of that, Na'vi River Journey is going to leave us wanting more.
Which, as long as the story feels satisfactory, could be a good thing. The ride could have a high re-rideability, which would be nice for DAK in not having as much as other parks.

Just did express transportation from Epcot to Animal Kingdom. You get to see the side of the mountain facade that can't be seen from the resort bus stops. It looks awesome. Just the very end of the mountains need to be painted.

They also have some pre cast forms laying out backstage that seem to be for avatar.

Pictures are unfortunately not allowed on the bus.

two questions
1. how much scaffolding is still up?
2.Are the two floating mtns near the service road finished?

@marni1971, just out of curiosity for some perspective/expectations, can you name a few rides that are in the ~4min ball park? Obviously I'd prefer a 10min ride, but at least it won't be like Mine Train (right?).
Thanks!
