So having this by the entrance makes a lot more sense when I read this. These plants detoxify the atmosphere. Perhaps we are in an area where these are prevalent and so that is why we don't need breathing masks.
Anyone get the feeling that this thing is going to be squirting "poison" at guests? I could see this being a periodic water effect...

That being said, what a cool first thing to see when entering Pandora...that thing is going to have a presence...

I'm just thinking out loud... but could it be that for moments when the 'banshee' is flying upwards or downwards the screens move to reflect this motion?
This, this this... sorry for jumping on this topic late, but that's what I'm thinking. That we're going to dive like Jake did in the film...The screens would have to tilt in order to do such a maneuver.

tbh i was imagining more of a screen that spreads across the floor, covers the wall in front of you, and also reaches the ceiling- so the ride would operate without tilting the physical screen- that way people can look all around them, even the the grass below them while the banshee flies straight and take it all in. I mean if it was just a smaller screen that tilts around the rider would only be able to look straight on and it would feel less impressive.

Go back through the last couple pages. This structure was mentioned at the beginning of the week, with a pic that shows this farther along than the one you included.

Theres also a later post with a close-up of the model showing it.

BlogMickey here. I try to lurk more so that I'm not seen as trying to push my little blog, or whatever. I just take the pics for fun to watch the parks progress.

Anyways, I did take those pics yesterday, which is interesting because it looks like there was more "progress" in the post you linked to. It looks like they may have removed those pieces and the remaining underlying structure is visible in these more recent pics.

The site which cannot be named is reporting that some Animal Kingdom CM's have been told to ask guests not to take pictures of the Avatarland construction. Has anyone experienced this?

I experienced it once. Two security CM's came over to me and asked what I was doing. I explained I was taking photos of Pandora and even showed them some shots from my camera.

They then told me that I'm not allowed to put my camera over the wall there (mind you, this wall is something like 10ft high and I was 30+ feet away from it as you have to have quite a bit of distance from it to see anything worth seeing). I agreed to their terms and kept taking pics.

This was months ago. Not sure if their policy has changed, but I had no issues yesterday for the 10 minutes I spent taking pics.

Thats always been the 'wall' policy. Can't reach over it. You can reach straight up and take pics, however.
