AVATAR land construction progress

It is an ironic thing.

When Disney builds a gift shop at the exit of an attraction people complain.

When Disney does not build one (eg Soarin) people still complain.

So they should build a gift shop by the exit and put up a sign: Exit through the gift shop if you want.

Hey guys! First of all, there is no confirmation by Disney on this, so take it as a speculation for now...

I have heard from some Disney cast members that Pandora - The World of Avatar is to open on April 14, 2017.

Thanks! :)
That may be the day I picked way back when when everyone was making their guesses. I know it is close to it. I must be from the future.:geek:

Hopefully there will be some ground level pictures of the project. Love the Ariel photos that have been posted lately. But close up ground pictures would really give us a true feeling of how massive this land will be once done.

DCA 2, China, fixing other divisions, acquiring worthwhile IP's that could be effectively exploited in the parks such as Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar were the major priorities and time consuming. (Negotiations etc.) And considering that the parks made a billion dollars last quarter WITHOUT these new projects indicates beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they did things in the right order and this turnaround is pure genius.
Interesting spin. But there is absolutely no excuse for allowing a premium product like WDW to deteriorate like they did. You keep championing The Pleasure Island redo as a brilliant plan, completely ignoring the decade long cluster they created. Only a real fan can look at nine years of ply boarded up venues as brilliant.

I thought they were opening this Spring and every time I looked at the pictures I kept thinking no way. Spring 2017 looks more in line. I am excited to see the finished product.

They were spending literally billions on upgrading neglected infrastructure and attractions at WDW while engineering New attractions, reimagined theme parks, a new theme park in China and new lands for theme parks overseas during that time period. Fact.

Not to mention acquiring IPs and fixing animation, live action, gaming, and adding cruise ships and DVC offerings. Whew.

And the brain trust created a 25 year old park that is 1/3 closed and only has 5 rides. Brilliant expansion plan.

Causing a train wreck and then cleaning it up shouldn't be considered brilliant just because they are cleaning it up.

Yeah, no park should ever need a major makeover, it should never be allowed to get to the point where that becomes necessary.
