AVATAR land construction progress

OK, so I have not been following Pandora that much -- mostly because I could hardly care less about the movie, so my excitement about it at DHS is not that great except for the new idea of a new land and new rides.

But what I see here is yet another Khali River Rapids (or any other off-the-shelf rapids ride from any theme park, USA), except with jungle theming.

Did I read this wrong? Please tell me so.

I very well could have, as I rarely visit this thread and only went back a few pages. But please tell me that I am wrong.
I'm not going to vote for George Clinton in the upcoming presidential election because I didn't like his TV show, Survivor.

But other then that he was correct. ;)

I dont think 3 people with the exact same answer is good enough for @prberk . I think we need at least one more for @prberk to understand  anyone?

I love this board.

Where else could I wake up from a long, 160+ page nap, see some pictures of construction in Shanghai in a thread dedicated to construction in DAK, call it DHS in my mind's fog, and have a panoply of people from all over the world (or at least the "World") correct, inform, and roast me all at the same time?

I love it.

But, hey, when Darth Vader shows up for his meet-n-greet at Avatarland, don't say you didn't hear it here first!

Took a look at some of the ealier aerials and it seems the early consept drawing
was a pretty acurate presentation of what was/is to come. Have look and compare:

im thinking X is where people are coming out from flight of passage perhaps where the gift shop is...

also between the X and the pink circle is a bridge to walk across

From an immersion and cohesion standpoint, I am wondering if there will definitely be a gift shop here. Looking at the sheer size of the building where the QS is going to be, I am wondering if the merchandise will be centrally located there. I know that this is counter to the standard model of ride our ride then immediately buy our stuff based on our ride, but if they are working on setting the bar for a fully immersive environment, the implementation of the merchandise, restaurants, restrooms, etc., should also make sense. But, knowing how the business works, there will more than likely be a huge gift shop right after you exit the simulator ride.

The backstory of the land is that you are being taken on a tour by Alpha Centauri Expeditions, do they could use that as justification for a gift shop at the end of the ride.
