I yet to ride it, four hour line..... nope sorry
and even though I login for Fastpasses as early as I can never got one.

All the time watching them build this area, over all disappointed.
Two attractions and one is so crazy busy I may never get on, the Floating Mountains "this is not even good Science Fiction, mountains have mass", never the less only if you try hard at different angles you can pretend you do not see how these "light weight constructs" are supported.

Lots of disappointed folk this morning we passed going to our 8am FoP FP. It hit 270 minutes as we entered. Still a wonderful ride, but not enough capacity to fit all day guests.

Right now, FoP is only 30 minutes longer than 7DMT (which is at 210 minutes). It's 2 hours 40 minutes for Space Mountain. 2 hours 15 minutes for RnRC.

I don't know what people expected at one of the most crowded days of the year.

Not to mention that most of FoP's wait time inflation comes from the fact that the ride doesn't fully go down when a theatre does. When Space Mountain goes down, they don't let anyone else in line. That doesn't happen on FoP, Soarin', or Star Tours unless there's an evacuation, so the line will just get longer and longer whenever they're having an issue.

Once we're a year into operation and the growing pains have gone away we'll actually be able to assess the wait times and whether the ride needs more capacity or not. Also, I believe FoP has a higher hourly capacity than two-theatre Soarin', so it's not like they're sinking to a new low (and yes, they just boosted Soarin', but Epcot got a Soarin' upgrade and Frozen Ever After instead of something new, so you pick your poison). By that point, the newness may have worn off a bit, and there's quite a few attractions coming online to help take the load off over the next few years.

I have to admit to being a tad underwhelmed by the attraction. I kept seeing these massive wait times, so I guess I expected something radically revolutionary. I purposefully abstained from reading about the ride details or watching any of the footage online, so I went in completely open. We waited for about an hour and a half at park opening. I was impressed by the level of detail in both the queue and film and the "breathing" was a neat effect, but this ultimately is just an updated simulator. I'm not sure if I was so focused on the motion that I didn't notice any water effects, but as of my first ride through, I don't think I'd wait over 45 min for this one. I'd like to get another ride or two in before completely writing this on off, but it looks like I'll have to wait until my next trip.

Finally made it to WDW to see Pandora and rode FoP 4 times between Dec 21-24. One rope drop, two fast passes and a park close actual wait of about 85 minute (posted was 130). I was really impressed even after the very high reviews, I had not watched any videos of the ride or queue beforehand. I will say after the first ride I began to wonder if repeatability may be an issue, usually a big deal for me. After the next 2 times I probably actually enjoyed it more surprisingly, enough so that I elected to go a fourth time the stand by route and because I wanted to see the queue that I had not yet seen. The queue was great indeed but I think I let they hype build my expectation too much on that one as now I feel like I've seen it and would have no problem trucking through fastpass in the future. Maybe some of that is due to being tired after many many park hours that day and the handful of days leading up to it.

Might move up to my number one ride I have done, still waiting a little while to digest if that's true or not. I'll say this, easily as good as I could have imagined a strict simulator could be.

Last time I went on FoP (seventh time) I paid attention to the crowd reaction. It was funny: here I was sitting up straight not holding onto anything because, at this point, I realized there was no real drops or turns for which I had to hold onto anything, and there was a lot of screaming in the theater for each of the 'drops'. When a simulator can make you scream because you think you're plummeting 100 feet instead of 2 feet, it's pretty darned good. It's like the point in the Spider-Man ride where you think you're falling into the street below and you're hardly even moving... people scream then to.

Now compare that to other simulator rides like Forbidden Journey, I've never heard anyone scream because they believed they were falling. Or Transformers, where the only screams are "WHAT'S HAPPENING?!! I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!"

I did four hours at the grand opening of Indiana Jones Adventure at DL. It went by so fast with everyone excited and listening to others who just got off the ride and got right back in line. Of course, all the effects were working then.

I enjoyed Transformers. Plot goes something like this:
"ALL-SPARK!" CRASH! "ALL-SPARK!" BOOM! "ALL-SPARK" Careening through streets. "ALL-SPARK!" More explosions! "ALL-SPARK" Careening through the air with added explosions. "ALL-SPARK! YAY!"
There is a full preshow video for those bothered to watch even some of it.

Funny that. I’ve never heard that in dozens of rides....

Transformers is a more frenetic ride compared to Spider-Man. For me it's similar to DCA's Tower transitioning into the more frenetic Mission: Breakout.

I believe you meant to say “There are multiple different full Preshow videos. Wow... #fakefan

(I’ve been spending way too much time with my nephew)
I got the gist of it and I do like the ride. I’m more saddened that I never saw the video that explains the end of The Mummy (one of my favorite rides.)
Actually there are a number of videos before you enter the temple set that explain it, as well as some posters at unload that clue you in...

Have any of you attempted to get in line for FoP right before close in more recent time? If you did it, how was it?

I haven't attempted in a long time, but the last time we tried (back in the summer when it was new), we got denied. I did get to go on it with FP twice, so I haven't attempted to go back since the summer.

My family's coming in March and I know they want to ride it, but I also know they probably won't get fast passes. Typically, when that's the case, it's best to go first thing or last thing. They're too slow to make it first, so if they go last, there might be a chance of a faster queue once FP stops for the night, if they're letting people in line right before close now.

They are letting people in until the park closes now! It's still quite the wait, but on days when the park closes at 8, what else are you going to be doing before going back to the hotel?
