Wait time today was marked as 105 minutes but was actually about 85 at around 4pm. The line just kept moving every 10-30 seconds. It was pretty great really. The ride is still amazing and the best attraction on property in my opinion. Honestly it's well beyond my initial expectations from when it was announced. Also they had the water effects on today which actually fit very well. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the musty / moldy smell they use during a few scenes. The wait time had dropped to 65 minutes at around 7pm when I walked back through pandora later on.

Were the water effects off at some point? They've worked for all of my rides so far.

My first ride on may 28th had no water effects. Others mentioned such as well around the 28th. Granted that was the second day the land was open so they were bound to be having issues with something.

Rode today with my 11 year old son. I had purposely avoided reading anything about the ride or seeing any videos. It was a spectacular ride, but much to my dismay, I did experience some motion sickness. Had to close my eyes a few times. My son, however, states "it felt like you were actually in Pandora, riding a banshee". He absolutely loved it. It was technically unlike anything else we've experienced.

On the 28th that's when I rode it and the water effects were on. It must have been some theaters were running and others were not.

Wow. We were thoroughly dazzled by this ride. It is an incredible achievement in beauty, artistry, thrill, and, notably, suspending your disbelief. By that I mean it is easy to forget you are on a ride. Everything is so seamless, so smooth, so all-encompassing. I haven't been this stunned by an attraction since the first time I rode Tower of Terror.

I finally did Flight of Passage last night.

The best way for me to summarize how I felt:

Here is all you need to know. My wife HATES waiting on line for rides. If we don't have FP, she won't ride anything with more than a 30 minute wait. We waited almost 2 hours before the ride was shut down and the building evacuated. Then we waited 45 minutes at guest relations and got a FP to return.

After riding, my wife said that it was worth all the waiting and she would definitely stand on line for 2 hours to ride again next time. The ride is near perfection for a simulator ride. It really feels like you are flying. The original Soarin' film had a few moments of that realistic sensation (the low flight river/ocean scenes) and the new Soarin' gives you that experience briefly at the great wall of china.

FoP feels like you are really flying the whole time. The visuals combined with the rushing air effect and the ride vehicle motion allows you to suspend disbelief. This ride is a "must do" for anybody visiting WDW.

I'm curious if there is anyone here who has ridden it and did not like it or doesn't understand all the hype and glorious reviews. If so, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

Surprisingly, the worst review I've seen for FoP was by Tim Tracker (who's YouTube channel I love and watch regularly). They first rode during cast previews and Tim was very underwhelmed by the ride even calling it a D ticket. I linked to where their review starts (about 31 minutes if it doesn't work)

I saw that too. IIRC, he said he preferred the NRJ ride over FoP. I completely disagree, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Tim later said on another video that he had issues with 3D sometimes and it takes him out of the illusion, some history behind it, so I think it's just a personal thing for him.

Inevitably you can't please all of the people all of the time.

He did seem more positive on his follow up visit.
