What you are refering to has nothing to do with hardware and everything to do with software. The hardware is what phones used to sell you on and although it is still a big factor the os is where the magic happens. Those company's died because they kept trying to make cell phones....not computers that can make calls.

I'm fairly convinced that is part of the reason why there are quite a few who miss the way Disney "used" to do things. We just didn't know what it was we were missing out on, or the politics behind it, or any other reasons. We just went and said "I like that, I like that, I don't like that, I like that".
Now we spend all day discussing these things online, we know what imagineer was shafted because he was in the wrong clique, the grand designs that never came to fruition because of the decision of some person in management and we walk around wondering what could have been.

Of course, it's a double edged sword, because we want to know all these things, and it has become part of the way we enjoy Disney as a company and product.

Budget cuts and projects not getting funded goes way back to the 1950s. There are books about projects that did not get done from opening day till today. Nothing is different then it was back then. Google on line and find list of Blue Sky projects that never made it into the parks. The difference is now people can go on line and complain about it all the time. I think that Walt Disney World has not gotten a love and care it should have in the last ten years, but things seem to be turning around. I look forward to seeing this project.

Thank You !!
It's not like the company suddenly became a 'real business' in the last few years.

What killed them is that they wanted to do proprietary OS and reap the app sales commission benefit. Apple could do that on their own because they were the first to create the app market. Android OS could compete because multiple manufacturers used it. Nokia and Blackberry didn't comprehend that nobody was going to port apps to a bunch of different platforms when the incremental sales for Symbian (Nokia) and Blackberry weren't enough to be worth it.

Possibly they are going to raise the ground level of the entire area? So the boat ride might end up being in the basement of the show-building. Would also help solve the problem of getting guests up to the 3rd floor or whatever it is of the simulator ride.

From bioreconstruct

As they continue to build this, the enormity of this one expansion really sets in. I know it isn't as impressive as back in the day when EPCOT Center was constructed, but as far as recent development goes, the simulator building and river ride combined are just huge.

Also, I am now lost again as to what is going on with the boat ride. Why is there such a large wall around the one side?
