Trip Club August 2013

Just booked it with Tammy (@DisneyFalcon) at Kingdom Konsultants! She did a great job, by the way!

After looking at going back to the Beach Club for the third time, or Wilderness Lodge or AKL - we settled on the Polynesian! I was literally driving poor Tammy crazy.
As much as I know about WDW, it was great to have her help to give me different options on rooms, dates and prices that I could not see online - and it didn't cost me anymore. Why would you not use a fellow Disney fanatic to help?

This will be the first time at the Poly ( or any of the original resorts ) and I'm pretty excited. I'll miss the Beach Club but time to try something new!

We will be there from July 29 - August 5th ( does that mean I can also be part of the July club??):)

Thanks! That's what I figure. We might get less done than at other times of the year, so go in with the right expectations. It's the only week we can go this year, so it's that or nothing!

I usually lower my expectations when it gets hot and/or crowded. I pick two or three things to see and do and that way anything else we accomplish is cake and like a small victory. We also don't have to feel so guilty for water and rest breaks.

Exactly. Right now I am planning all of my "must-dos" for mornings right after rope drop. I figure we have the greatest chance of getting them done then.

After that, I'm kind of leaving the days open and scheduling any character meals for dinner.

Sounds like a good plan, don't forget to include some time at the pool!!!

We're doing the same thing, but in reverse, BCV then BLT. That's a long trip you have planned, I'm jealous! :)
Yeah, the August trip is long. The record one was 19 days. It wasn't supposed to be that long, something about a hurricane back home kept us down there. There would be a rebellion if it were any shorter than 2 weeks. What can I say, my family loves Disney!

Nice! We were down there during Sandy last year (we're from NJ). Two weeks is my dream, one day!

Oh those darn hurricanes....I am sure it broke your heart to stay down there during it...taking one for the team.

Ah the rope drop plan in reverse. :)
Yeah basically. We get in the parks at about 3 and stay until closing unless we're going to AK, which only happens once during our summer trip usually. For two weeks in August, it's a survival method. I don't like getting up early. I'd rather stay for 2 am EMH

It did. I was quite sorry when I got home to have spent the day of the hurricane at the pool and Epcot, eating at my favorite restaurant that night while my friends all suffered with no electricity and no internet, and in the case of one of my friends, no air conditioning. Not.

Sandy wasn't as bad in Baltimore as Irene was. We never lost power, internet, anything. I submitted all of my college applications that night. Irene was way worse down here. We had people who lost their homes because of fallen trees, and although according to my neighbors, we only lost power overnight, I had friends without power for over a week. Sandy seemed tame in comparison. I was glad to have missed Irene.

Yes, Irene was bad here too, in terms of flooding anyway. I was happy to be away from Sandy and the power outages, but it was also a weird feeling being so far away from home.

July 30 through August 11 here! If you are near the Wedding Pavilion around noon on August 2 we will be the bride and groom. It is me and my fiancé and 20 other people. The bulk of the group will be there from August 1 through the 4th. All 20 are staying at POFQ. We are starting at POFQ until the first then I check into the Contemporary, the fiancé joins me on the 2nd. We have a tower room with a Magic Kingdom view.

I can't wait! Not only are we getting married I get to ride IASW with my Dad, do Hall of Presidents with my sister, have dinner at Sanaa with my best girlfriends. I get to be there with all of my siblings for the first time in 15 years, be there with 5 first timer adults and best of all my 2 year old nephew's first visit! Then, as if I could ask for more, a whole week with Mr Goalie after everyone else leaves.

CONGRATS!!! I just may see you and your spouse: staying at the Contemporary Tower from July 31-August 13. I'll be with my brother and parents (we split a surprise trip for our parents for a hoo-rah family getaway!).

My husband, daughter and I will be at BCV from Aug. 18-23!

We haven't been able to stay at our home resort in over 4 years, so needless to say we are very excited. Can't wait!

Same for me Violet, also from NJ and we went down a few days after Sandy. We still didn't have power when we left. And then there was that freak snow storm! It was a very surreal feeling enjoying our time at disney but knowing that so many of my coworkers had lost their homes.
