My husband, daughter and I will be at BCV from Aug. 18-23!

We haven't been able to stay at our home resort in over 4 years, so needless to say we are very excited. Can't wait!
Same time as me! BCV. I'll beat you over there and am staying until the day after you leave, but still. See you at the pool in the mornings. :) Not too early for me, though. I'll be the stray teenager (actually, adult who looks around 15 or 16, lol, baby-faced me, I'll have to show ID so they know I'm 18 at the gym) who wanders down at 11 am or 11:30 by herself and meanders in the gift shop in a little cover up with a refillable mug before heading out to the pool. I always look strange because I'm by myself, but since I go every year and I'm a creature of habit, the cast members are just like, "Oh, hey, there you are!" So do some of the people.

You haven't stayed there in 4 years? o_O What gives? Where have you been staying recently?

Super awesome!! You will have to tell me about BLT. We were thinking of getting a one bedroom there for the trip, but went with the Contemporary (our 'home'). BLT is on my list to stay--it looks AMAZING!!
It's really awesome. My family owns there, mainly because my dad was considering buying either there or at AKL and I kept nagging until he bought at Bay Lake. It's my favorite resort on property. I've always loved the Contemporary and wished we could stay there more, but before they opened Bay Lake, it was too expensive to do it for too many nights. We'd stay at another DVC resort for a few nights and switch. Either that or AKL before it became DVC.

I actually was one of the first to stay there, as I stayed there the week after opening. It's got its own pool, which isn't as big as at Contemporary, but it's a nice little pool. It's nice to have the option of pools. We usually alternate. The pool has a nice clear view of Bay Lake. The rooms are really nice. Even the sofa beds are comfortable. The studios are smaller than a room at the main building, but the one bedrooms are nice and big. The rooms are some of the more modern ones I've seen. I almost am sorry to leave there to go to BCV partway through because the rooms are so much nicer. In addition to everything you'll find in the main building at your disposal, you also get a bachi (if that's how you spell it) court and shuffle board, as well as community hall.

The Lounge at the top is really nice. They have some interesting food selections. To save money, we'll go there and order a few appetizers and drinks for my parents (and something for me, depending on what's on the non alcoholic list. I can't always have the stuff on the menu due to a pineapple, strawberry, and guava allergy, among others) and then we'll go over to MK and get something later there. But you have to be a DVC member staying there using your points to go up. Sometimes they'll have exceptions, but this is generally not the case. I would love to go up there and watch fireworks, but I'm not willing to brave the crowds. We usually go up at around 5 pm when it's not crowded.

Sometimes I go up to the breezeway walkway and just enjoy the view. You get a nice breeze and view of MK from up there. Quite peaceful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write that all put. BLT looks amazing. And if I were to buy a DVC, it would e there. Hands downs. I wonder how GF will look when complete. The one great thing about to Contemp is the room size---and that extra couch is nicer than my bed at home (sad to say). One day I will be tying out BLT.

We just may bump into each other. My name is Maureen.

No prob. It didn't take me too much time. I'm a journalism student and regularly have to write stories quickly and efficiently, so that took about five minutes. Plus I like to talk. And express myself. :) I love Bay Lake. You should consider buying into Bay Lake, especially if you go every year, want a bigger room, or would like to consider saving some money. Grand Floridian should be interesting and I'll probably stay there with my family once, but I'm not wild about that resort. It's too frilly for my taste.

My name is Missy. My full name is Marisa, so my parents call me both, but I definitely prefer Missy. I'm 18 but look around 15 or 16 thanks to being baby faced. I'm short, only 5 ft, a light brunette (it'll be curly or wavy when I'm down there, it's currently straight), rather curvy figure, hazel eyes. I will be at BLT starting August 9th. I can usually be found by the pool, at the arcade, or wandering the gift shops at around 3:30-4pm. Around lunch time, I'm the one up grabbing food at Contempo Cafe for the rest of my family. I'd be by myself in a black and white cover-up resembling a cute little dress. I don't get up before 9 am, preferably 10, and can usually be found at the pool by about 11. We also love the Wave for breakfast, so I can be found there. I don't know exactly what parks I'm going to, but I know on Friday and Sunday nights, I'll be at MK. If you see a girl riding Buzz Lightyear in her own car and maxing out at least one, if not both, cannons, it's probably me. I'm really smiley, talkative, and personable. If you strike up a conversation with someone of my description, and the girl says she's from Baltimore, loves the Orioles, and traveled to Disneyland and Hawaii in June, it's me. Oh, and the big ticket: it will be my 43rd trip. I'll look for you too based on your profile picture. Though no guarantees, my powers of recognition are horrible. I see you're a High School teacher. What do you teach?

SWGirl- you sound adorable and probably around my daughters age, 24. We have stayed at Saratoga Springs the past 4 years. It is nice and close to DTD but it is not the BCV.
Your plan for your days sound lovely. However, my husband likes to get out to the parks early, come back mid afternoon and then go back out after dinner. Your way sounds like a relaxing vacation. So if you see an exhausted woman in her 50's sitting in the lobby staring aimlessly into space, that's me!

That is just crazy. At least spend one day at the pool. That's part of the fun of being at BCV, right? I'll look for you, I come in at around 3 and I usually go through the lobby. :) I also get lunch from Beach Club Marketplace at around noon.

So August people, let's talk about our ADRs! :)

Which ones you got! Any ones that you are particularly excited for? Any ADRs that you wish you got but couldn't? I'm still debating whether I want to try to get the Wishes Dessert Party at Tomorrowland when those come out...We couldn't get Be Our Guest, but that's ok. I'm not sure I really understand it anyway...maybe we can get in there for lunch.

So far we have...

  • Marrakesh
  • Akershus Princess
  • Teppan Edo
  • Via Napoli
  • Le Cellier
  • Crystal Palace lunch
  • Hollywood and Vine pre RD breakfast

Whispering Canyon-
Tapen Edo
Be Our Guest.-Surprised we got in actually but looking forward to trying it out.
Flying Fish-never had it interested to see how it it.
Liberty Tree
Garden Grill
Coral Reef
O'Hannas.

Most of these are family staples in the household, an we look forward to them every trip but Flying Fish and BOG are new....super excited...as long as I can refrain myself from breaking out into song and dance while I am there. And believe me I probably would.

We were tying to do Be Our Guest to but they're booked through October. I booked last night for August 5-8 and this is what I got:
  • First day: Crystal Palace
  • Second day: Breakfast at Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill for lunch.
  • Third day: Edit: I'm such an idiot, I'm going to Epcot on day 2, so I can't go to World Showcase. Hopefully Rainforest Café at AK.
  • Last day: A first one here: we got what no 8-year boy wants just because of the title but every 8-year old girl's dream: Cinderella's Royal Table, which I was surprised by considering it is usually hard to get.
So excited, considering this is my first trip since 2011. I'm staying at the Contemporary for the first time, and embarrassment alert, first time at a Deluxe. We'll only get to go to three of the parks because I decided not to use Park Hopper and I want to go to Magic Kingdom twice. The park I'm probably going to kick out is DHS because I went there last time I went, but who knows. All I have to do now is get my Amtrak tickets and wait the extremely long 99 days until we go.

One Little Spark...
When are you staying because I'm staying at the Contemporary, too :)

August 2-3. We are only staying one night, since our Disney Cruise leaves on the 3rd (7 days on the Fantasy).

Then, after the cruise we're coming back for a 10 day stay at Port Orleans French Quarter.
