On the 28th, 10 PM central time so sayeth Zac. :D

Ben, i like the subtle alterations. Mine, well, i like the original but it lacked a few things. looked too much like a photo.

And for those having trouble with making things look like photos... seperate your elements. Like the tower from the background, etc. and alter them accordingly.

here's mine. I'll be busy for the rest of the week so this should be my final entry. The banner is from the lobby, I couldn't think of anything else to use that was from there. I highly doubt Mahjong tiles would help .

Intersting note...the tassles are acutally pillars from ToT!

OK, after being reminded that I forgot the slogan, I decided to add my favorite quote from the ride, and also spice up the title a bit. So here's my LAST entry. I swear.:)

Zac,
Where are you guys getting the font used in "Tower of Terror"? I found a Twilight Zone font but it's different.

Thanks,
 ACE

I actually resized a much, MUCH smaller version of the logo to fit my 24" x 36" format, and as we all know, the edges are pretty bad when you stretch something larger, so I just redrew the font right over the top of it. I haven't been able to find the REAL font anywhere. It takes a little time and patience to redraw it, but I think it's worth having it match the actual attraction in the end.

I also got my original TOT font from the fastpass, but I had to redraw it because of the 24 x 36 inch size I created the original poster at.

Looks like yours has potential. I know you can pull it off, whether or not it will be by the dealine is another story. Even if you don't get it done by then, I still hope you take the time to finish it.:) I'll never turn down the opportunity to see someone else's creativity come to life.

Thanks for the info. Never thought of tracing it. :hammer: I'm actually getting pretty good at the cutting, so tracing shouldn't be much different, just a little more precise.

Another quick question. When I do the glowing thing, my edges are too distinct. I tried blurring it all together with no luck. Is there a trick to this or do I just need to keep playing with it? I'm gonna try and find some tutorials tonight. I didn't have time last night.

Thanks again,
 ACE

There's a glow function for layers under Layers > Effects > Outer Glow. Mess with those settings.

Another way to do it is CTRL-click on the layer you want to put a glow on (this selects the object), Copy (ctrl-c), paste (ctrl-v), and then go to Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur, and play with those settings.

Simply select a brush with edges that aren't precise. There are tons of brushes to choose from. Several have edges that sort of fade out. That'll solve that problem. Also, if it doesn't, just lower the opacity on the outermost layer of the glow.

The outer glow function rarely works well when it comes to glowing bulbs of light. It works ok for neon, but that's about it. You'll have much more control and flexibility over it doing it manually. (once you get a feel for it):)

Wow, all of these are pretty amazing. I need to learn to do these things I tell ya.

So far, I like grizzlyhall's. It staring back at me made it for me. The subtlety is great.

All of them though will be a tough decision. This will be an interesting contest to keep track of.

Don't think I'm gonna have time to do this one, but you never know.

Excellent entries everyone, this is the first thread i look at everytime I log in!

Well, this is by far the most competitive and creative contest that i've seen. I know everyone is pushing each others creativities to their limits... and i know i'm learning new things about photoshop and some new techniques.

I think this is going to be a tight, close one among 3 or 4 people. Thats my prediction.
