Arriving before check in time?

We are going to be arriving at POP long before the 3 pm check in time.
I know I have heard that sometimes they will have your room available earlier so it is not a problem. And I also know that if we arrive early we can go to the parks and come back later to get our room. But my question is - do we have to take our carry ons along with us to the parks? Or is there a secure place you can leave them and they will be taken to the room?
Just want to be as prepared as possible.

The resort will store them for you while you head to the parks, I believe.

You can leave your carry-ons with bell services and they will hang on to them unitil you get back.

It is really hit or miss. It depends on how busy it is. I am generally picky about location so I do not mind waiting. When you check in you can always ask to be in a better location, close to bus stop, etc. That might mean waiting until a little later to get into your room. I have been lucky in the past in that a room was usually ready when I checked in early. I generally would ask if there was perhaps a more favorable location and they would tell me that I would have to wait a while. I did not mind because I was usually going to a park anyway.

We have never had to wait until 3pm to check in even in the busiest days of July and August. We have even checked in as early as 9 am. Your room may be ready for you, but if not they will keep everything there while you enjoy the parks.

It depends on how busy it is, how booked the hotel is, etc...we have had our room ready at 9am and then other times it was not ready until 4-5pm! It just depends. I just have a little advise, make sure everything you are leaving is CLEARLY marked, try not to leave too many "loose items" like jackets and small bags, it is just asking for it to get lost.....I would also not leave laptops, or any kind of electronics.

We've stayed at Pop numerous times. We usually always arrive in the 11am time range. I would say it's a 50/50 shot. Sometimes we get a room, sometimes we have to call later in the day to find the out the room number. We always leave our carryon with the luggage area. We have never had a problem. As a matter of fact, I believe the last time we left our stuff, when the Magical Express luggage arrived, they placed all the times, including what we left, in the room while we were out.

Done this many a time in the All Stars too!

I leave my work laptop quite a bit, if I have it with me.

I left it just this last Monday.

There is an electronics "cage" in Bell Services. Make sure you tell them it is a laptop (or other expensive item). It then gets put in a seperate locked cage jobs for such items.

I had a 5:00 PM DME pick-up on Monday. I was not carrying my laptop around with me all day

You can never plan for this. I have checked in at 10:30, I've had to wait until 6:00 :fork:.

Actually, you can pre-checkin where you get all your info, give your card info etc. then they give you a number to call from any of the parks and they will tell you what your room number is and when it is ready, so you don't have to sit around the lobby.

As others have said, in the meantime, you can check your luggage.

We arrived early around 12:00. We would have been able to check in had we not requested a specific building away from the pool area. It wasn't a big deal though because they gave us our key to the world and a number to call to get our room number. We did not have them store our luggage, we just left it in the car but they did offer to keep it for us. We were just in a hurry to get to MK! :lol:
