For me a preshow is saying, "Hey, we're not ready for you yet, watch a nice little movie."

Where as the Stretch Room is a complete experience. If anything is a preshow in Mansion it's the changing portrait.

Ok, I see what you're saying. To me it's just a really well done preshow.

Can you believe that a CM tried to rush me past it when I was there in Aug? I usually like to stay and listen to the narr. too, but they wouldn't let me.

I would be livid. Of course that wouldn't happen, because most of the maids/butlers are friends.

If the narration starts before I'm through the door, I wait till they open the door the next time.

Yes. I'm serious.

BTW, New JC script comes in next month!:D

I would have done that, but I was way to excited to see the actual RIDE and it's enhancements.

Aww, I like the Dinosaur preshow

Sorry to hear no mor preshows. Preshows like HM, RnRC, Star Tours, UoE, and Muppets are classics! I hope they change their mind in the future.

For some of those, they work. Muppets and UoE are shows themselves (well the latter is also a ride, but it's a scheduled-start not continuously loading) so watching a show while waiting for a show makes sense.

RnR does stop you, but that is so slow-loading anyway it really doesn't slow you down as much as distract you. Star Tours is more of a "briefing" you view before getting on the ride, and you view it while the other passengers are still in the vehicle - so again, no time wasted.

HM is a special case. I think most agree the "pre-show" is part of the overall HM experience we all love. This is partially because it's a Haunted House theme and setting the atmosphere is very important.

However, with an Omnimover ride, it is specifically designed to be continuously loading. While again, we all love HM, it goes totally against the actual design of the ride system. It was a neccesity at Disneyland, but at WDW it's all for show. Not necessarily a bad thing in a haunted house, but not neccesary for TLM.

If they don't have one, it will be a much more pleasant experience with much less wait times (and certainly no need for FP either - not that I am against FP in general at all, but if there are no obstructions between entering the line and getting on the ride vehicle, it just is unnecesary).

I thought it might be interesting for folks here to see the deep hole they are digging for the California Adventure version of The Little Mermaid. They are digging about 20 feet down, which you can do very easily in the dry, sandy Anaheim soil. Clearly this building, which from the pictures of the California Adventure version is a tall building of several stories, is going to be a big structure.

And it makes sense, since if you are going "under the sea", your clammobile is going to have to go down a ramp or incline to get down there. I imagine the WDW version will take use of the Utilidor level, since you can't dig but a foot or two into the swampy land in Orlando.

But here's the current state of the construction on The Little Mermaid ride at California Adventure, from yesterday... http://darkbeer.smugmug.com/Theme-Parks/DLR-10809/9899788_hBm6y#674668330_LiDv2-A-LB
