This is not a ridethrough of the movie.

This is a series of vignettes based on the musical scenes from the film. Think of it more like It's a small world rather than a retelling of the film.
I really hope that's not the case- it sounds awfully disjointed.
Isn't it premature to be critiquing a ride that isn't even designed yet?

Not at all if it's based off something WITH a story- Like PPF or SWSA.

If they really want to do this Huge E Tic Dark Ride, they have to treat it like one- WITH a story.

There is a popular pix somewhere on the interwebs that shows a complete layout of the ride with clammobiles and everything. Can't find it though. :(

This one? its DCA's but at D23 they said the facades will be different but inside will be nearly identical.

It's been designed and is well into construction already what the heck are you talking about??

and _scar and wdw vactioneer you are acting very childish. The concept art speaks for itself and you are welcome to go do some good old fashion research like I did and read/listen to what the imagineers are saying about this ride. Don't take my or anyone heres word for it.

Then dont come in here with the whole "hurr Conundrum is a liar look how he contradicts himself" routine. It's very rude.
You act like I hunt you on here.

First you said no story then you said mabye the end of the story will be at the end of the ride...implying there will be story. Thereby contradicting yourself.

I do not come on here thinking, hmmm... how can I annoy Conundrum today.

You can see in that layout ( http://www.mouseinfo.com/gallery/files/4/1/2/7/dl142061_original.jpg ) there are about 3 scenes before Under The Sea, which means Part of Your World and 2 more scenes are before it. (Maybe Triton goes ape**** and Ariel on the Rocks?"). Then we have Under The Sea. THIS picture proves that ariel should be a mermaid by this point: http://www.mouseinfo.com/gallery/files/4/1/2/7/bsc134_original.jpg . THEN maybe Ursula, then there's an unidentified show room, then Kiss de Girl in the black show room, the BAU (you can tell by the BAHead in the middle of the white room right before the finale), then Finale. It just doesn't make sense for there to be a big figure in the middle of that room if it's Kiss de Girl; the centerpiece of the KdG room is Ariel and Eric, hardly a piece that would reach the ceiling. You have to look carefully at that room and you'll see the head with the crown and some sort of spire sticking out of the room, either a lightning strike or the Trident. Can someone help photoshop?

It seems that either the diorama or the overhead layout was changed, and seeing that WDW's blueprints have the large circular Under The Sea room as seen in the model, I'm leaning towards that one.

What I said was the attraction is focused primarily on the musical numbers as six vignettes in the attraction. It will not be an adaptation of the film. Some story elements will be put into the scenes though. But the emphasis is on the musical scenes much like Pirates and It's a small world.

Okay, so it will be based on music, and still have story?

That Diorama is identical to the concept art I posted 2 pages back. The model is being looked at from the side where the "UtS" room is. It's the right side of the building just like the artwork shows.

It will have some story elements but how much is anyones guess. The priority for this ride is to make really grand marc davis scope musical scenes based on the movie. From what they said it won't be exactly like Peter Pan's flight and snow white which are basically three dimensional summarys of the films.

I hope it's coherent...That description makes it sound very clunky.

^ Yes, but that doesn't work when you have Ariel become a human and then have her traipse around in Under The Sea the very next scene.

And yes, I think the model is different than the overhead concept art. The concept art has only six rooms with an oval load/unload, and UtS is on the side of the building. The model has at least 8/9 scenes, a straight load/unload, and UtS is in the center of the building.

Again,

Again,

The picture is taken from the right side. What you think is the center of the building is actually the RIGHT SIDE of the building! Just like in the concept art. The only difference is the model version is more of a circular shape for the UtS scene.

There are those other differences, too: The oval queue instead of the long, linear one, plus that there are more scenes in the model. And I think the shape is a little different too. In any case, there are 2 scenes after Under the Sea that are not in the concept art.
