Let's wait and see what the Patriots official defense is. I mean hey, if the whole "If the glove does not fit, you must acquit" thing worked for OJ, then maybe the Pats can come up with something similar for this situation... :lookaroun
Talk show sports radio has been hilarious this morning, ranging from Belicheck (or however you spell his name) being banned from the league to the Pats having to forfeit the game to the Jets. :ROFLOL: That's like saying we should get the death penalty for speeding. The biggest issue to me is why they of all teams were stupid enough to do something like this, kinda like Nixon and Watergate...he was gonna and did win by a landslide anyway.

Here is my view:
Bellichick is a great (genius) coach.
He is a coach in the NFL and they are not the most "sane" people in the world.
While I would want him as a coach; from what I have heard about him as a person I would not want him as a friend.

The Pats also suffer from a little of what I call the Disney Syndrome. They have won 3 Super Bowls and are up on such a pedestal that they cannot possibly live up to everyone's expectations. They are made of humans that can be dumb, arrogant and sometimes dishonest. I was not proud of Rodney Harrison for taking HGH, I was not proud of Seymour stomping on a players head and I was not proud to see Bellichik's divorce played out in the press.

The owner; very classy individual that does a ton for the community. Many of the players are the same, but they all swim in the business ocean of the NFL and no one they associate with is perfect.

Very good assessment. I've heard stuff about Bellichick that led me to believe he's not the most congenial guy in the world.

The Pats have become the Yankees of the NFL. Very successful, winning championships, able to seemingly reload every year, and everybody wants to bring them down and/or revel in their non-frequent losses. Everybody hates a winner--unless it's your homeboys.

Have you ever met him? Classy in the public eye...let's leave it at that. Again, someone you want for the community...but not as a friend.

I have a question...why not suspend the coach for a game or two? Would that justify it? Can you imagine how the Pats would perform if Bill wasn't on the sidelines in that god-awful gray pullover?

Draft picks may be the answer too...I don't know if there really IS a true answer. What does the rulebook say? If there is a rule...then there should be a definitive penalty for breaking said rule.

For instance...if you are drinking and driving...there is a penalty that is standard. If you are caught breaking the "videotape" rule...there should be a standard penalty...if you repeat the offense...the penalty gets more severe.

Rulebooks are so vague in this aspect.

Never met Mr. Kraft so I am going off of what I see in the public. What you imply could very likely be true and it would not shock me.

Can they suspend Bill, but let us have the pullover on the sidelines? I think the pullover is his source of genius.

Suspend him one game, take away a mid-level draft pick. Fair?

Oh, and burn the pullover.

I heard this on the radio driving to work today and it's so true. The rest of the league hates us, and thoroughly enjoys any negative press that the Pats get. Also, Belichick is the kind of coach that when he's on your side, you love him, but when he's the opposition, he's strongly hated. Why? Cause the man knows how to win. My DH, who bleeds Patriots blue, loved Mangini when we was with the Pats. Now?? HATES him. (of course) I thought Randy Moss was a punk until he came to the Pats, now I think he's great. :D
See you in the Superbowl.

Kinda funny, Belicheck is now talking about "his interpretation" of the rules. Like he read misunderstood something in there that would allow video taping coaches....please.

As for a penalty?
How about banning the Pats from postseason play and substituting an extra wild card for the AFC? Works for me, especially if it turns out they have been doing radio spying as well. (As it would since my team is in a division that forces us to play for a wild card spot anyhow...)

Still have no idea what he aplogized for based on the press release; kinda of like our injury reports every week.

Titans still won't make the playoofs. :lookaroun

Well....we might...if we would have won that last game v. the Pats last year we would have.
So an extra wild card spot wouldn't hurt us at all. Keep us from having to win the division over "you know who".

Well, since Jeff is on the competition comm. maybe that will be their suggestion? I am sure Polian will back banning the Pats from the playoffs.

My guess, we loose a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick and Kraft suspends Bill and the hoodie for 1 game. In addition Bill will not be allowed to wear the hoodie for the entire season.

...cry about not repeating?

:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

Peyton's always crying about something. If he throws an incompletion, he immediately looks to the refs asking "where's the flag??" Because of course, he's just so good that he would never throw an incompletion without pass interference being called on the defense... I'll take Brady any day.

As I said earlier, I'll be watching my Pats in the superbowl.. winning. :D And I love the hoodie!!
