Are We Getting A 50th Nighttime Show for MK?

HEA has significantly more pyro than Wishes did. Supposedly the new Epcot show (after Forever) will have significantly more pyro than RoE. I think some of their editorial choices are wrong (an Epcot show about Disney movies around the world), but I don't see where they could possibly be spending less.

I would guess they’re in the ballpark on cost...I wouldn’t see a huge disparity either ways. All guesses on real cost are conjecture...nobody with that info are on boards...or blabbing to vloggers. There is no point to that.

The new Epcot show will have to be judged when it rolls...I hope they don’t cheap it. The original ROE had a ton of pyro...a ton. Mikey went big on that...

They of course castrated it over time and greatly reduced it...but that’s to be somewhat expected.

I think you should rewatch some videos of ROE from 2000.

I have...several times.

I’m not sure the videos do it justice...but it was much more impressive overall then. I saw it in previews and during its first couple of weeks as well...there were differences
It was certainly more impressive. Mostly due to quality of product. Not so much quantity of product.

There were some key sequences in the latter years where they appeared to “forget” to load a tube or two...notably the end.

It’s gonna be hard to top that show...my opinion. The original, non-Disney references show made it its own thing...

Now they appear to do ONLY highlight reels of movie trailers and dvd preview clips. Such is life

You and I don't always see eye to eye, but on this we are in complete agreement. RoE was a masterpiece and the fact that they are replacing it with a clip show, even if technically impressive and enjoyable on it's own, will leave Epcot with something missing.... I had always hoped that whatever came next would be in the spirit of RoE, but something like that is likely never to happen again.

I try not to be harsh...but it’s hard here.

All the new shows are designed for twits (kind).

Can’t watch anything without the brat (or them...if we’re honest) yelling “woody!” Or “Elsa!” Once per minute.

It’s fitting the imagination pavilion is in shambles...the world is devoid of it.

EXACTLY!!!! I get why MSEP had to help out DL with PTN/F! down and the SWGE building all at once but there's NO REASON why MK couldn't put up a replacement right away! Even with CTM turning into OUAT.
If MK could do MSEP, MM&Y/CTM, Wishes/ They can do HEA, OUAT and something else now!

As for DLR, WHY are they so hesitant to keep a Night Parade going?!?!?!??! F!/MSEP/Fantasy must have worked or DL wouldn't have done that for 5 years. DL Finally got back into it with the 60th, then MSEP's 45th. Then they went back to Night Parades in DCA with PTN during Pixar Fest. Now Who knows where PTN(or MSEP if it's not destroyed)is?!?!? It could have the same fate as Spectro for all we know!(I have no proof, I'm just guessing here)

IF DLR doesn't want PTN anymore give it to a resort that could use it! There's nothing wrong with that!

1 good thing is Mix Magic is gone and DL Forever is back tonight!

I read elsewhere, though still no announcement, that PTN is planned to return very soon.

How are you rating it as “the best”? You’re welcome to say it’s your personal favorite, but how do you rate a fireworks show? Number of shells? Size of shells? Length of time?

HEA has grown on me but I still don’t think it’s close to Disney’s best. Hard to beat Remember in my book, but I think I like Disneyland Forever better too.

That’s not to say I don’t enjoy seeing it, and I understand it can be some people’s favorite.... but labeling it the best is curious.
I think he meant MK when he said the "park's" history. He did not say in Disney Park's history.

Since you mentioned Disneyland, Remember used to be my favorite. However, I think HEA now taken that over. Forever was very good, but never in the running from my favorite.

I really, really dislike the Castle Stage shows. I think being able to walk through the castle and having Main Street Transportation be able to run later in the day is well worth the sacrifice. Walking through the castle is a seminal experience, and the MST add a great amount of movement and place to Main Street.
I like a castle shows. But you bring up some excellent points. I always enjoy how the trolleys in vehicles run much more frequently and much longer into the day at Disneyland and they do at Walt Disney World.

I’m one of those people too.... HEA never gets me emotionally the way most Davidson shows do.... except the finale. The classic “you can fly” with tinkerbell flying and going back into the theme music.... if the entire HEA Show was like that.... big winner. Instead it’s just a bunch of ip’s tied together. Now all those ip’s have awesome pyro going on with them, so it’s still a good show..... but lacking emotionally compared to Disney’s best.

To be fair, Disneyland Forever isn’t much better... I think anytime a designer is given a projection heavy show and told what ips have to be included the show will suffer.
This is a strange argument. Wishes could definitely also be described as a bunch of ip's tied together because it totally was. I don't like how this news Forum constantly uses IP everytime it wants to criticize and discredit something as if it's cheap for Disney to use its own intellectual property on its property? I don't get that argument at all. Edit : but I do get the argument that not Every nighttime spectacular needs to be a clip show.

Wishes was one IP at a time, audio only. HEA is multiple IP’s at a time in audio and projection. Hearing the rev Of lightning McQueen during “touch the sky” for example.

I mean yeah, Fantasy in the Sky is a string of IP.

I get what you are saying though.

Recently I was at MK walking down Main Street before HEA and they had a parade rope up on a small section by Casey’s and other guests sitting on the curb as if a parade was going to happen. I was like 😢 lol.

I KNOW!!!!!

However I think those ropes are for open traffic next to the Main Street stores. I think DL does the same thing.

DL does almost the opposite, they rope off complete squares of viewing areas on Main Street and actually encourage guests to go under the ropes. As long as you fit within the ropes you are good.

Not to be picky lol but the way the parks are run now a days..., if they do green light a nighttime parade, realistically what are the odds it will be a traditional style light parade? Any of our insiders hear any hints as to potential concepts?
