Polynesian, or the contemporary. Ive stayed at all three monorail loop resorts and Dixie Landnings. By far i enjoyed the Contemporary the most.. Then Dixie Landings.. Im sure the Grand Floridian is great. But for the price its boring.. The polynesian is my second choice after the contemporary. Look around at what you like :)

Depends. Dose your patry like thrill rides. Old fasioned Disney rides (dark rides and themed adventures), do they like adventurous parks. Do they like to rest. Do they like to split up? Tell us everything we can. We will be able to help you more.

well budget isnt super tight but i doubt we will spend as much as the grand floridian asks for...i mean yes we have teenagers and we will split into large groupe seein as how two members of the group will be close to 17 when we go...so most definately yes they like thrill rides proley more than easy rides which they will do also...also as far as resting goes they may do sum as far as comin back to the hotel and swimming or sumthign of that sort but most likely no naps or going back to the hotel for that reason...anything now everybody does that help?:veryconfu :D

Well rest wise.. Everything is accessible on Disney Property by bus. But if you want easy access back to your hotel you could rent a car or ride the monorail. AKL is a nice resort with scenic views and well decored rooms. But isnt monorail accessable by leaving your room type deal.. Its all what YOUR family wants basically. The contemporary has a morning breakfast at chef mickeys. The G.F. has an award winning spa. And the Polynesian has a Luau!~ For excitment ratings.. Well.. Resorts arent THAT exciting unless you make them.. The Contemporary has an Arcade (* FUn Center*). Dixie Landings (* dontknow if thats the name still *) Has boats that run from the Downtown Disney TO the resort.. (* Others also*).. Again its all what your family wants.:)

Hello from a very big Moderate fan here. I happen to think they have the best of all worlds at a great price! However some of the dynamics of your group worry me. How many people are planning on being in one room? Are you aware that the majority of the Moderate resorts have two full size beds? That may not be enough for four adults in one room. Generally I Am most comfy with two adults in a room that size. Also no kitchen facilities there, is that important to you? to me it would be a drawback if it had them!! The last thing I want to do on vacation is cook!! dont worry about getting around, transportation is easy with Disney. Be aware that the Moderates right now go for $154 a night to start. Id wait until a bit closer to the date to see if there are any discounts available. Belle

If you want everyone in one room, try one of the DVC site. Wilderness lodge, Beach club, Old key west or Boardwalk. You can get 2-3 bedroom suites there. And they are wonderful places to stay

I think the DVC suggestion is worth looking into. Just be aware that the 2 BR units at BWV go really quickly.

The 2BR I stayed in had a King bed in the MBR, a double bed and double sofa bed in the second bedroom, plus a Queen sofa in the LV. The MBR was large enough for a crib (which is supplied in each unit) without being "crowded." The unit has 2 full baths...a shower and separate Jacuzzi tub in the MBR, a tub/shower combo in the 2nd. There was a full kitchen in the MBR side, and a kitchenette in the other room.

Although I wouldn't want to eat every meal in my villa, either, I found it was handy to be able to have coffee, cereal, snacks, for the odd hours when people are hungry and nothing is open. (or you don't feel like getting dressed!)

Also, you may not plan on napping, etc., but sometimes if you have a monsoon type day it's nice to have someplace to go back to to get dry for a while.

Kitchen facilities when traveling with a baby make life a lot easier, so you might want to factor that in. If I didn't need to worry about a very small infant, I'd probably put the whole gang up in adjoining rooms at Port Orleans (I prefer the French Quarter over Riverside, but the whole place is really nice). Bus transportation is convenient, the pool and food court are great, and the laundry facilities made MY life easier, too.

We've also stayed at the Caribbean Beach and liked it, but bus transportation to and from the resort seemed to take forever - just its location, I'm sure.

I believe that Old Key West will have the biggest suites available (I've stayed in the 2 bedroom and its huge, I think the 3 bedroom is actually 2 stories). However, careful on the price, it might be kind of expensive.

Ok when you say "baby" do you mean infant like a few months old or "baby" that is 18 mnths etc.? If you can't find a great rate on a suite...you might consider two adjoining rooms. We went for 10days in May/June 2002 and had 8 people in our groop. We decided to go for two rooms at All Star Movies Dalmation Bld.#1 for $55 a night. It was the cheapest we could find and at that price we were able to add on more time to our stay! Although we are the type of family that when we are on vacation we are not there to enjoy the room...we are there for the parks, the food, the fun!

OK--I looked up rack (i.e., non-discounted) rates for regular season (June is regular season).

A 2 bedroom villa (these are Disney Vacation Club properties that can be rented with points, for members, or cash for non-members)

at Old Key West
$545

at Boardwalk Villas
$690

at Wilderness Lodge Villas
$640

I didn't find pricing for Beach Club Villas, but I would guess it would be very close to BWV.

You will need two rooms at a regular resort. This is pricing for 1 room.

Regular resorts:

Moderates (Caribbean Beach, Coronado, Port Orleans)
$154

All Stars
$99

Deluxe Resorts:
Wilderness Lodge & Animal Kingdom Lodge
$229

Contemporary
$254 Garden; $360 Tower

Grand Floridian
$369

Polynesian
$334

Yacht & Beach Club
$319

(Actual prices may vary and could be discounted. These are 2002 rates. It is reasonable to suspect they will go up in 2003. These are good to use for comparisons.)

As you can see, each adult can get his own room at the All Stars for what a 2 bedroom villa would cost. Or 2 rooms at the monorail resorts, or twice as many nights at a moderate.

If your plan is to spend most of your time in the park, I would suggest a moderate or value. The monorail IS convenient, primarily because there is less wait time than for buses. However, that monorail only goes to MK and Epcot; you still get on a bus for Animal Kingdom and the Studio. Because of this, I would not pay $300 a night just for the monorail. (but that's just me.)

You will probably find that you do come back to the room during the day for a swim (it will be hot) and to let the baby take a "real" nap. (If you're planning on a late night, or an E-night, you all might want a nap). Again, IMHO, any Disney transportation is convenient for that. It is also especially nice since your group may be splitting up.

I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you further. We're here to help. :)

Like CDS Disney said......

FORT WILDERNESS

Don't need a car, busses come like every 10 mins, they have the best bus system in WDW.

I say you can sleep up to seven people, queen, bunk beds, murphy bed and a sofa......

and of course, they're a hell of a lot cheaper than any villa!!!
