Have you had a chance to play around with Windows 7 yet?Every time I work on certain file formats, I have to switch to a PC b/c my brand new (loaded) Mac tower still cannot support the software. I blame OS X.

No, I don't play with beta software. Since my personal PC runs XP Pro, I skipped Vista, and might upgrade to 7 if it's good enough.
However, because of my job, I usually use a Mac, both at work and at home. I wish I could use it for everything, because I appreciate how OS X doesn't hog my system's resources like Windows; but OS X simply can't run certain programs well.
Can't you have dual-boot on a Mac now with Windows? My friend did something like this and he can play PC games on his mac now...he said it is perfect.
I have a feeling you will like Windows 7. It is turning out to be one incredible OS. The release candidate for Windows 7 has been out for a little while and it screams even on an old PC. It is no where near the hog that Vista is plus you will not have all the third party driver issues which was the real bane of Vista at launch. If you have a Vista machine I would definitely upgrade to Windows 7 when it hits stores. No, I don't play with beta software. Yeeeeep. Simply press a button on start up to switch to windows like wise if you want OS X. The application that does this is called Bootcamp. :sohappy:

Off Topic: I use Macs and PCs everyday, and I own both. They both crash; they both have issues; neither one is perfect.
I hate how complicated some simple business tasks are on a Mac because OS X is a pain in the , and I hate how clunky other things are on PCs because Vista is a power-hogging nightmare.
Like I said, I own both, and I even use an iPhone; but I am not convinced that a Mac is always better than a PC.
p.s. My brand-new Mac required a hard drive replacement after 1 week; it was a manufacturer's defect. OS X crashes every time I try copying large numbers of files from one external hard drive to another because goofy Apple STILL won't support hard drive formats bigger than FAT32.
Apple Store? Or an interactive electronics boutique, carrying major brands (even including Apple and/or HP, Nintendo or Sony), but themed in such a way as to create an attraction. Could Apple pull this off? Perhaps. Could WDI pull it off? Definitely. And if they could carry the latest technology, stuff you could not find at your local Best Buy, I think people would more prone to buy high ticket items.
Side note: I find no logic in the apple vs. PC debate, as others have said they both have strengths and flaws. I find it akin to debating politics or religion or the DDP, as we all have our opinions and they are usually strong and unyielding. Fruitless to say the least.
Double side note: WDWFREAK, what profession are you in? I see you use AutoCad and Revit. I am an architecture student, so just color me curious.
On to the topic at hand: I'd prefer corporations stick to low key sponsorships, and TDC reclaim former corporate "flagship" stores and create shopping experiences that are unparalleled and unrealized anywhere else in the world.
To use previous examples...
Starbucks? Or a WDI designed Parisian style Cafe? Or NYC cafe? Or the many, many examples of coffeehouses in college towns, urban centers, etc.?
ESPN Zone? Or letting the Imagineers run wild with the sports bar theme?
Barnes and Noble? Or a book store themed to feel like an old used book shop? Dark and musty, but inviting in your grandfathers den/library way. Even carry old and original print books.
Apple Store? Or an interactive electronics boutique, carrying major brands (even including Apple and/or HP, Nintendo or Sony), but themed in such a way as to create an attraction. Nice thinking.
Any thoughts on possible entertainment options at DTD or in the VM building.
I thought today that they can add some reconfigured seating in Mannequins for a "dueling pianos" show by putting the pianos on the turntable and creating a theater in the round dinner show. I was there when it first opened and I am not sure that is practical or if the spinning floor is still there. I only went once because I found the decor a bit creepy, Glad it's gone.
Anyway, you make a good point in showing how relatively easily Imagineering could redesign the venues and get DTD back 100% if they were allowed to.
Kind of a bold new vision.

Trust me, this is not it.
Just some fancy PR to make the closing of the AC easier. Which worked... really...really...Well?:lookaroun:lol:
My "bold new vision" includes reopening the AC and the CW. Add a dueling pianos show in mannequins, the Hoop-de-doo (in the former country bar) and a Lucky Strike bowling lounge in the former Zephyr building (or whatever it was called) and problem solved. ESPNZone at VM with a connecting bridge to DQ and open DQ to the pay as you go model. Add a "blues club" dive
in 8 trax and a jazz club in BET.
There, bold new vision.:lookaroun

That's almost as funny as the people that believe the best way to make Epcot futuristic again is to essentially bring back all the old attractions that were closed.
PI wasn't viable as a night-time district, so simply rehashing the old clubs won't work. Unless of course you were being sarcastic, in which case I salute you.
You do realize that this contradicts EVERYTHING you said in the DTD Hit thread, right, jt?:lol:
Anyway, I like the ideas.
