Anyone Have Pics of HISTA Closed?

According to this article posted by Ricky Brigante on his website, Disney Spokesperson Benjamin Thompson says “We plan to bring back ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Audience’ at an undetermined date.”

I know he knows what he is talking about, but he can't always be right. In this case I think he's not.
Yet as stated in the above quoted post, a Disney Spokesperson has already confirmed that they plan on bringing HISTA back after EO runs its course.

They also said Spectro will return but many believe that MSEP will be around for a while.

Honestly, they need to seriously kill HISTA. Nobody wants it, and if someone does, I'm sorry to hear that.

I believe the theater capacity hasn't changed so how could it attract more guests?

Wasn't the Wand supposed to be temporary?

Maybe Honey I shrunk the Audience will return after it is gone for 16 years
1. The 3D shows aren't filling up on non-busy days so adding this will get more people over there during those medium to light crowd days.

2. The wand was temporary. It may have overstayed it's welcome a bit, but ultimately it was temporary.

3. This is meant as a tribute/attendance booster to that pavilion. HISTA is a terrible attraction that should have been gone long ago. Hopefully with getting rid of it and bringing in EO for a short while, this will transition into a refurb for the overall imagination pavilion soon and we will never have to see HISTA or EO again.

I think this might be a case of "only time will tell." There is no way to know for sure what TDO is planning here.
Hopefully it is a new film when EO has run it's (hopefully) short course.

I went and took pics, but nothing really exciting happened overnight. Just a CM standing outside saying that it was closed and that Captain EO was replacing it. The smoke effect for the shrinking machine was turned off.

I'm not saying Lee is wrong, he's a great insider. I just feel this is a Disney "seasonal" attraction thing. They say it'll be back but I just dunno...

It will discontinue running when they feel enough fans have purchased(aka, things are not flying off the shelves or selling and the quick rush of fandom from MJ and Disney fanatics has subsided) the overpriced items such as posters, vintage style t-shirts ect....anything EO tribute merch.

I would not expect Shrunk the Audience back...

thinking like Disney these days in particular, it takes 2 months to convert what ever they need to get done and even if converting it back to Honey was cheaper and shorter it is still money that has no real payoff with synergy...and that is what Disney is all about.

I am hoping for Honey I shrunk the kids on Blu-ray though. :p

So, are they going to take down the Honey I Shrunk the Audience sign on the building??? if so, do you honestly think they will put it back up in a year or so?? I don't... I think HISTA is done... Another thing, what exactly did you expect the Disney spokesman to say??? During this EO run, I suspet they will make final plans for an Imagination refurb... Once they decide EO is done, they will announce the entire pavilion is closing and a new ride and 3D show will be implemented... So, of course he was going to say HISTA will come back cause NO FINAL DECISION ON A NEW PAVILION HAS BEEN MADE!!!! :brick:

At Disneyland the hista signage was completely removed and some parts of the building were even repainted back to the old purple magic eye colors. Hista wayyyy overstayed it's welcome and chances are it's thankfully not chiming back. Eventually eo will be replaced with something new.

Ok, I know HISTA has a bunch of haters, but my little family enjoys it. Everytime we have gone the theater was filled. But you know, we just like everything!!

I expect the same fate will become of our HISTA Signage...
*waits to see if the shrinking machine part of the sign will be made available at Property Control...*

I'm sure within the next few weeks construction walls will go up around HISTA for re-theming of the exterior to Captain EO Tribute. Hopefully it will be the last time we ever see the signage for HISTA...

As for the overall pavilion, I still think it would be a great idea to close JII during EO's run for overhaul so that when it's back up and running, EO can close to be converted into a new 3-D show... aka not HISTA again...
