I'm hesitant to get too excited. In Disneyspeak, "reminiscent of" the original might be a far cry from "the original."

It would be great if they could also redevelop the pre-show. Something along the lines of the DL tiki gods would be welcome.

Totally agree. Why can't they just ever come out with some early details. It's so ridiculous sometimes

I wonder if they will end up incorporating the Orange bird? That was a rumor floating around awhile back that he would host the show. Im not sure if Disney has rights to the character though etc?

Now...it will be "like" the original. I assume there will be some old favorites like "tiki tiki tiki room", but new polynesian songs/music mixed around it?

No I'm afraid they misunderstood, the original isn't returning ... Walt Disney Imagineering announced earlier today at D23’s Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th event that The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) at Magic Kingdom Park is already undergoing changes behind closed doors that will reshape the attraction into a version reminiscent of the original show.

No I'm afraid they misunderstood, the original isn't returning ... Walt Disney Imagineering announced earlier today at D23’s Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th event that The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) at Magic Kingdom Park is already undergoing changes behind closed doors that will reshape the attraction into a version reminiscent of the original show.

A version reminiscent of the original is a heck of a lot better than something not at all related to the original, like UNM.

Pick a month and it has had an opening date that has been missed. Now its `this summer`. Surely PR and marketing wouldn`t try to tie in a new version of the original 1971 show returning for the 40th. Would they?

But the 40th is not officially until Oct., right!?! Last time I checked Oct. was not considered summer! :lol:

Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for "this summer" and hope that it at least opens in Sept.!

Forget that, I want the plaza redeveloped so that the last intrusion of the aladdin franchise is removed from AL. if the theme does not fit in and work, don't build it.
