It's always good to explore other destinations. With 8 people that can be hard on a city, so many different interests. I suggest an all inclusive resort or cruise next time out with the group. Something for everyone and you can meet for meals easy.
quickly priced a 6 day disney cruise for 8 people (2 verandah rooms) next july-$12K
2 suites on Carnivals newest ship Celebration next July 7 days-$16k
Of course don't need balcony or suites and will be cheaper if have been before as well.
Carnival, Celebrity and Royal you can get 10% off gift cards at Allstate bringing price down further

Totally agree with larger group all inclusive or cruise is easier!!

Are guests allowed to walk the coaster to retrieve their magic band? This is Disney’s problem to fix.
Lost my lanyard/pass at Uni on the Mummy a few years ago. GS had it the next day. Already had the card replaced but really wanted my lanyard pins. Great GS experience.
Next year I’m going to a Sandals resort on St. Lucia. Even paying for a helicopter from the airport to the resort. And it will be cheaper than Disney.
That sounds amazing!!!!
That’s exactly how I feel. I took a very nice trip to Hawaii recently for less than the cost of this trip. And enjoyed it infinitely more.

Honolulu can be affordable if one knows where to drink and eat , just ask the locals or google is your friend.Staying two blocks to the beach , a 5 min walk is cheaper than staying beachfront. Nice part of swimming and sunning at the beach - it’s free.
We did 2 weeks in Hawaii this summer for less than a 6 day disney trip would have cost. Timeshare (only MF owed-nothing on TS), did a few tours, ate amazing food (Food trucks are plentiful, large portions, cheaper!)
The issue with a company... ANY company... NEVER starts at the bottom of the totem pole. It ALWAYS starts at the top. lol
And really evident at Disney-My daughter did 2 DCP's has a couple friends who still work there. Believe me there are some managers they'd never work for, and some -that even when they get offered more money/promotion to move on-don't want to because of the good work environment that the manager has.

Luckily, I had planned for this to be my last trip for seeeeveral years. Sadly, it was one of my worst trips. If anything, this trip solidified the fact that I need to move on from this expensive dump heap.
Consider Disneyland. I was just there and it’s in pretty good shape. In some ways better than pre-pandemic. Still more downtime for rides than in the past, but the resort feels like Disney still that’s for sure.

Also consider this… at Disneyland while I was there they had Fantasmic, Electric Parade, Fireworks, and World of Color. That’s 4 night time shows for only 2 parks.

Weather in Anaheim not too shabby lows 80s day and low 60s at night, not like sweltering heat FL.

I've been to Disneyland twice. I love it. But I'm still going to choose a cheaper alternative I think.

Hubby and I have been trying to get to DL since 2020 (we all know why that didn't happen LOL). Right now we think we're finally going to be able to make it in 2025 😂 We want to do an extended trip in CA since I've never been there and DL is just a stop along the way.

When I visit it’s definitely my destination but there are certainly other things to enjoy! On my last trip I took the train down to San Diego for a day and also spent a day at Knott’s.

Nothing selfish about my answer. Theres no responsibility on Disney for you losing your things on property. Theres no connection to riding on Disneys rides and their requiring a MB use and your carelessness. Any item lost on any ride, hat, camera, phone or anything else is not their fault and therefore shouldnt be their responsibility to replace. Ive had hats blown off on coasters and its been my fault for not securing them beforehand. Never once thought Disney was responsible for my stupid actions.

Just back.

We did not lose our M bands, but the M+ part didn't work. It was frustrating. We could get one or two to work, and then they'd crap out again. We even spent over 2 hours in Guest Servies to no avail. The CM gave us one gneral G+ pass (no space or Ppan) for our time, and a Fuelrod. Supposedly fully charging the bands helps, but it didn't work. So we were basically out the $100 we spent on them, except they worked like old M-bands. They sometimes randomly lit up. The statues sometimes worked, but then after we'd collected some- the next day they would be gone, like we had not collected any.

In addition to that, they kept popping off- like no M-bands EVER did before. On top of that, you have to charge them every night, so the problem just gets worse, because we had to keep taking them on an off.

I do think if the bands do not work, and they had us file an incident report- we should get a refund. At least for the difference btwn reg bands and the M+ version, but that is not current WDW.

I just booked a 5 day 4 night stay beginning of December with 3 day park passes including genie + for 2 people. Staying at the Hilton right by the property and including airfare from ny and a 1 day car rental. Grand total $2300. Which I think is a fantastic deal.

So uh. They certainly make it hard for you to leave.. They replied in detail to many points in my email to them. They offered 8 free 2-day tickets, expiring on August 8th of 2027.

I'll most likely gift these tickets to some friends. Because I'm sticking by my word. But I appreciate the effort, Disney. Thanks for trying.

I agree the MB's arent ideal. Ive never liked them from the start. The design has problems and Dis should make a fix. But my, my DW's and my DS's MB's stayed secure on our wrists the entire 2 weeks we had them on. If yours kept unlatching then you should have complained and insisted on a replacement or knowing it was not latching properly put it in your pocket. I know that shouldnt be your problem and its all on Disney but dont keep wearing it if its not secure. The lack of charging again is an issue Disney needs to fix. I agree its not functional if you keep running out of power. Yes you should get refunded for a MB that isnt functioning.
My original post was regarding something that was lost on a ride and Disney isnt responsible for any item lost on a ride. They do search for lost items and in many cases do get them returned to the guests.

Seriously...

We did talk to GS about them unlatching. They gave us - get this - a rubber band!

In any event, I was more just trying to give everyone a heads up. When another forum member reported the same situation (M-band easily coming off), your reaction was to call it "carelessness."

This forum has become so nasty as of late! What is the point? This is supposed to be a forum for something we consider fun, but instead of exchanging useful information there is now just an instinct towards attacking everyone who posts.

As it happens....I spent two hours in GS one day, and another 20minutes talking to someone about the bands at a blue tent. At that point, we just wanted to cut our losses, and make the most of the rest of our time.

Because also during this visit, a member of my party suffered an allergic food reaction due to what I'm going to call a food that was not adequately labeled. It was chicken salad that contained chopped peanuts, but the description did not say it had peanuts. There was no indication that it was not classic American chicken salad. So there went a whole evening, until the reaction subsided. Loads of fun!

The next day, on our way out of AK, we discovered MDE had eaten two park tickets. As in, someone in GS REALLY goofed. a CM was supposed to prioritize the newest tickets. We had gone to GS to specifically ask them to prioritize the newest ticket, but the older never-expire tickets were the ones that the system used. So I spent another 90minutes in GS getting that fixed. Except WDW no longer has no expire tickets. CM gave me a number that supposedly = a ticket- so long as I do not lose that number AND am willing to standing GS line to redeem it. The number can't be linked to MDE.

The only 'remedy' of sorts was some G+ passes and Fuelrod. We got 1 G+ for the faulty M+bands, 1 for the lost park tickets (worth over $1500) and 3 for having a near death experience.

Okay...technically the near-death allergic reaction was worth two ILL's and one G+.

Other parts of the trip were fun, but there were some pretty BIG hiccups!

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. NONE of that would have happened in the disney of 2019 and back. This is a disgrace. I am also so concerned about the peanut allergy mistake! That could have been very tragic, and I am glad it was not. My grandson has a nut allergy too, and when at disney they were always very careful to have the chef talk with him and make sure he had the right food. I guess that has gone on the wayside too.

I understand what you are saying about some on these boards (and other disney boards too). For the most part, people share a common love for disney and give well thought out answers and help to others. I have found that a few people are constantly trying to start an argument with others, and I hope the monitors notice that. It's pretty obvious who they are. I just use my ignore button and don't read what they say. Just know that a few bad apples won't ruin this forum. I have had so much help from wonderful people on here. I hope your next visit, if there is one, goes without a snafu. However, the way the current disney is run, it is doubtful that these problems will be fixed, and that is very sad.

Sorry but I’ve attacked no one. I’ll post my reply to anyone that I feel I can help also, or I’ll post to someone I disagree with. There’s no attack here. You want to have only your opinion posted then it’s a one sided discussion. I’ve always been courteous to all, you included. I’m actually agreeing with you that the MB designs are not good and Disney should redesign the feature. Again my reply to the OP was regarding a lost item on a ride. Disney isn’t responsible for items lost.

I should perhaps clarify, the nut exposure was a bit of a special situation. At WDW restaurants, it is still possible to have a chef talk to your table. We were still offered that option when we dined at a table service location. The nut exposure was little more complicated because it wasn't at a TS restaurant.

Disney isn’t responsible for items lost.

We did not lose our band, but we were not able to wear them on our wrists, which defeats the purpose of having them.

They are functionally useless.

WDW knows this is a problem, that is why the CM gave us a rubber band, and what he said when he gave it to us. (Maybe I didn't make that clear.)

The other CM said WDW is aware the bands to not easily pair with Android devices.

WDW is well aware of both problems.

I do not find it magical to spend $25 on a band that does not work as advertised and falls of my wrist.
