Another things wrong post

I assumed at least one person here would respond needlessly rudely. If someone wants to have a conversation about something, I’m happy to. But if someone just wants to be rude to a stranger on the internet, I have no interest in engaging.

I could provide a laundry list but I think all of the issues I’ve experienced have been talked about on on this forum. “Broken everything” was clearly hyperbole, but the fact is, nearly every attraction at these parks had at least a few bad show elements.

The problems that used to be rare and surprising 10 years ago are now just commonplace and expected. It just didn’t feel like we were “guests” but instead walking, talking wallets. It felt like Disney is testing how little they can provide before guests get ticked off.
In regards to feeling like guests it starts with the cast members. How were you treated by them? You can have the newest cleanest and most amazing attractions but I don’t feel valued I’m taking my dollars elsewhere.

This is something I should clarify anyhow. I think 99% of CMs are trying their hardest. I actually used the CM recognition part of the MDE app a few times daily. You can tell that Disney is still able to attract some of the best people from all over.

But Disney also isn’t giving CMs everything they need to be successful. When restaurants/hotels/attractions are short staffed or don’t have the resources to serve guests, it’s impossible for CMs to be successful. We saw this a lot and it’s disappointing that Disney puts both guests AND CMs in such a tough spot.

We did run into a handful of miserable CMs as well. We tried to let it slide, but our worst encounter was at Ratatouille. My sister grabbed 3D glasses from a bin underneath an empty/crooked bin. The CM literally screamed at her not to touch ‘his’ bins. She apologized and he kept screaming. We walked off and he continued to yell down the hallway. Overall, many CMs in the France pavilion seemed miserable. I had (not quite as) bad experiences at both the bakery and creperie.

Family and friends visited France. In Paris it was noticeable not so cheery staff taking care of us guests.

God, no. No it doesn't. It starts at the tippy top and trickles DOWN to the cast members.... How are the CAST MEMBERS treated? Because however THEY'RE treated is how YOU will be treated.

Saying its the cast members' fault is ridiculous.

You assume that. When we go spend thousands of dollars in a week and not treated as valued guests , that’s first impression from front line staff to us the guests , not rocket science to figure out. So your definition would be similar - you and your family go spend hundreds of dollars on dinner , get sub standard service from restaurant staff but it’s not their fault ? Got it.

Correct. It is not rocket science to figure out. Cast Members reflect the state of the park, which reflects management, which reflects the people in charge of management, and so on and so on...

The issue with a company... ANY company... NEVER starts at the bottom of the totem pole. It ALWAYS starts at the top. lol

Who is charging you thousands of dollars to go to Disney World? Because it certainly isn't the front desk staff at All Star Music..

Disney World. 8 people in my party. Spent $10,000 on 4 rooms at all star music and one-park-per-day tickets**.

Check-In:
°Even tho I requested rooms towards the front, or beside each other... We got 2 rooms in the farthest back of country, and one room on the opposite side in Broadway. An absolutely atrocious distance to have to walk.

Epcot:
°Imagination. Figment AA barely moves. The last panel in the "blast" room had been down at least since my trip in June.

°Ratataouille. Broke down while we were on it. About 20 minutes.

°Mission: Space (Orange) broke down while waiting in line. Waited an additional half hour.

°Pictures didn't work for any of us on Spaceship Earth.

--------
Day off:
Disney Springs:
Nothing bad here. Just too crowded and too expensive to do anything... On a Tuesday afternoon.

--------
Magic Kingdom:
°Little Mermaid kept stopping and going the entire line and the entire ride. Ariel AA in rough shape.

°Buzz Light-year stopped about 12 times. Everyone in our party got to 999,999 before we could even finish the first room. Pointless.

°PeopleMover was down all day and never opened.

°My friend lost her magicband on Space Mountain. Told to go to City Hall. Went there at the end of the night, obviously didn't have it. The best they could do was have it the next day at city Hall or send it to Disney springs. No refund. No replacement. Nada. Zip. And we couldn't go to either two locations during the remainder of the week.

--------
Hollywood Studios

°Rope dropped ROTR and still waited about 2 hours. Went on it at night and it was a walk-on. What a waste of time that morning was.

°Slinky Dog Dash was down in the afternoon when we tried to get on. Then it was down in the evening when we tried again and never reopened.

°Luckily, we went to ToT after slinky and ended with Rockin. Rockin Roller coaster was down for 20 minutes while we waited in line.

--------------

Day off:
Hoop Dee Doo: This and Cirque we're the big highlights of the trip.

-------------
Animal Kingdom:

°Second carnotaurus still stuck in forward motion. Refurbed carno in picture looks great

°They cancelled the last 4 Nemo shows today without notice.

°Finally cracked and bought all 8 people Genie+ so we could ride some damn rides without waiting forever and then expecting them to break down.

------------

°Parks and resorts were in general just dirty. Food all over the floor, hairbands all over rides, water bottles and cups shoved in all sorts of crevices.

°Charging full price and parking fees at resort when you only get housekeeping every other day and all they do is change the towels. They don't even make the beds or sweep the floor.

°The app was very confusing to me for some reason this time. For whatever that input is worth. It's especially hard to find a certain attraction for a DAS pass when all 4 parks are grouped together.

°We had a party of 8. DAS wouldn't allow more than 6 to use. And Genie+ would have cost too much for all 4 park days when I already spent over $14,000 on this trip, much more than I have spent on ANY trip. I've neve been able to not get every attraction in, in a day. Was very upset we couldn't do some attractions because of the ridiculous wait times due to lightning lane. It's a rich person's paradise.

°I am officially priced out. It is neither financially possible or worth it to come back here again.

There was also several other small things that added up to this being a very okay/kinda bad trip. Luckily, I had planned for this to be my last trip for seeeeveral years. Sadly, it was one of my worst trips. If anything, this trip solidified the fact that I need to move on from this expensive dump heap.
I agree with you. My trip this past May hurt, it hurt my feelings and my budget. I felt like I was Cedar Point with the litter all over the place (cast members can only do so much when people can't manage to take their trash to one of the 100's of can all over the place). Rides always down, food was generic. Look at all the fights now, again, just like going to any theme park. I requested the 70's building at Pop and end up in the back of the 90's building which made for a nice long walk, especially during a storm at the end night when they shut down Skyliner and wait for a bus in a mile long line, in the pouring rain for almost an hour.

I'm leaving today after 5 days in wilderness lodge. Had a fantastic trip. I noticed clean parks and friendly cms. One cm gave a little girl a cupcake on main Street because it was her birthday. The little things that can make a big difference. And anytime I did see a peice of litter on the floor there was a cm picking it up.

I was there in May too, for two weeks - I don't recall seeing litter all over the place or rides down all of the time. Rides went down of course, including Pirates when we were just about to get on, however this was never for an extended amount of time. The things that bothered me the most were some shops/restaurants still being closed and a distinct lack of variety in a lot of merchandise, but I know that's largely down to supply chain/staffing issues.

Regarding the room request not being met - a request is just that, not a guarantee. We were at Coronado Springs and had requested Casitas, only to end up all the way back in Ranchos. Sure we got soaked a few times heading over to Destino tower or El Mercardo, but it is what it is!

I'm glad some other people are having some good trips to report on...

Maybe it just boils down to Disney has classed me out of their system. Because I can barely afford to stay at All Star Music much less Coronado Springs or even Fort Wilderness. I guess if you're not worried about how much money you spent on the vacation, then you're financially stable enough to enjoy the parks in their current state.

Different strokes for different folks... I'm priced out. I hope yall continue to enjoy your trips. That is all that matters.

I spent way less than 10k on my vacation. And everything was up while I was here expect for a few times when rain force closures.

5 days for 2 people. Cost $4000 including food and flights.
That checks out.

See, that is simply not worth it for me. I think that is a ridiculous cost for just 2 people... Especially with all things considered on why my trip went so poorly. I would not want to pay $4000 for my wife and I to experience what we went through during the week we were there. (Whether it be 8 people, 4 people, or 2)

You had a bad experience. I had the opposite. I had some great interactions with cms including a fantastic time at whispering canyon. I had a villa that was clean and comfortable. I asked for an early check in and a room close to the busses. I was able to get the close room and a check in a couple of hours early. Never had to wait more than 10 mins for a bus. The majority of the food we ate was good. Never had to wait more than 30 mins for a ride. All in all I'm very happy with my trip and sad to leave.
