Another Disney "princess" movie....

I actually wanted to start a discussion, someone else wanted to start an argument.

Was that person you? You seem quite dead set on arguing arbitrary points and ignoring the facts presented to you based on your own reasoning (ie. Cars and Toy Story not being marketed towards boys).

Brave....

Do you think they're beating this "princess" thing into the ground just a bit?

Princess & the frog, Tangled, Brave...

We get it, they make decent bank and allow you to push merch on little girls and sappy parents, but please move on already!

I actually wanted to start a discussion, someone else wanted to start an argument.

No, you were looking for an argument from the onset.....

What's that I hear? It's the sound of a hole being popped in the OP's argument.

If not for the fact that most of those movies mentioned currently have or soon will have entire rides and/or lands built for them. The films might be old but the park presence certainly is not.

And you dismissed Crocket's entire list (many of which have had decades worth of park presence) because they were "over 20 years old". So...where does that leave us?

You can't have it both ways.

More like a Kaboom...... his whole rant just went over the cliff. :sohappy:

I wouldn't go that far.

The Little Mermaid ride, Beauty & the Beast theatre and land, Cinderella castle, Tinkerbell fairyland with meet and greet, the princess boutiques, etc...as said above even if the movies are older WDW is still pushing them full force in the parks.

Did you look at the list?

Rainforest Cafe, Splash Mountain, Kilimanjaro Safari, etc...

Those are built and marketed for boys?

The latter two, more so for boys than girls.....

And again, going back to movies, the pendulum is swinging back in the other direction. You may not like that fact (and apparently do not, since you've chosen to move on from your OP), but there's as plenty to do for boys (if not more) as there is for girls.

If that fact upsets you, Universal is always calling your name.....

I did and the overwhelming majority of items on the list were aimed at boys or would be of greater interest to boys rather than girls. You'd have to be delusional to deny it.

How about you read the entire list, rather than picking 3 things out of it (two of which boys are likely very drawn to).

That's not so much "new" as much as it is a replacement for the now defunct ToonTown meeting area. But such logic is probably lost on you in your quest for an argument.

Kind of forgot to include this. Of course, since it's not girl-centric it doesn't help your argument any:

Currently, princess fans have the following options:

1. Pony up big bucks for a princess meal - IF you can get a reservation
2. Pony up big bucks for a princess make-over
3. Wait in a long line for princess meet and greets

Princess-themed rides?

Snow White's Scary Adventure which is too scary for most and deals more with the villain than the princess. Oh, and it's going away for a dwarfs-themed ride!

Princess fans are a core demo for the Disney company and WDW has not been satisfying the demands of this audience. So, let's stop whining about new atractions that weren't built specifically with you in mind.

I promise, the new Fantasyland won't give you cooties.

The only ones on the list that I would agree are even moderately marketed strictly toward boys.

Hall of Presidents, ESPN, etc.....that's just a bit demeaning to suggest girls don't have an interest in history or sports. Most of the other films, lands, and projects listed had strong female character leads.

And most princess movies have a strong male lead as well. It goes both ways.

Your argument is so desperate!

The hits just keep coming!

It's almost like the OP has no valid point!

(actually, it's a lot like that)

Have I mentioned the HM queue, the new ghost apparitions at the end of the HM ride, the new Pooh M&G, the replacing of Herbie with Lightening McQueen in LMA?

But, why bother? This was supposedly a thread about "princess" movies, after all.....:brick:
