Another Disney "princess" movie....

Oh, I see. You don't understand what "in production" means. Cause Tron 3 is not in production. Whether or not it ever will be is debatable. But if I wanted to see it, I'd go out and buy a lot of copies of Tron Legacy on BluRay.

cause if the video sales aren't exceptional, it ain't happenin'!

Casting is complete, storyboards are in process and principal photography has started.

How's that for "in production"?

You can see the teaser for yourself on the BD.

Again, no it hasn't. You don't go from "hints at production" to "principal photography has started" simply because it is convenient to you. TRON 3 will only be shot if DVD sales of the last film are solid. So no, no production or photography has begun.

And again, going back to YOUR OP, how does TRON 3 even being considered show that "princess" bias you so decry?

You might want to re-read that article. You seem to have read quite a bit into it....

Tron 3 is not currently in production. Not at all. When it is, Disney will make a big announcement.

As wm49rs pointed out, if Tron 3 does get made that kind of hurts your whole "Disney hates boys" point - or whatever it was you were trying to say originally...

"Harry Knowles is reporting that TRON: Legacy is “incredibly close to having its SEQUEL announced” according to his “Grapevine of Industry Insiders.” And when you’re as well-connected as Harry, that’s a well-informed grapevine."

Disney will make the announcement when it fits their timeline.

When they do the film will have already been well underway.

Girls are the cashcows for Disney, let's be honest. However, it'd be nice for us to get another legit Disney adventure with a male lead. Where's our next Aladdin or Simba?

Not at all.

Other than limited merch and a monorail decal what has WDW done in the parks to push TR2N?

For a movie that didn't come out until what, December of last year? Not like they've had a lot of time to construct a new ride or attraction. And considering the take from the film didn't quite meet Disney's expectations....

But again, all this talk of TRON and a potential sequel does nothing for your OP. But I suspect you already know that....

You must be dreaming, the coffee clutch insists there is no princessfest at Disney, move along nothing to see here...

Really, you cited a Harry Knowles rumor?

Who's more reliable I wonder? Harry Knowles or Jim Hill? (Answer: Jim Hill by a mile).

By the way, the rumor even contradicts your clain that Tron 3 is "in production". all you have is a rumor (from a very unreliable source) that claims the movie is close to production.

:brick:

Disney will make the announcement when it fits their timeline.

Which they will do with much fanfare when and if Tron 3 actually gets the greenlight. Which hasn't happened yet months after the movie was released. Which means its unlikely to happen unless video sales are spectacular.

These things follow a pattern if you've been paying attention.

When they do the film will have already been well underway.

Um, no. That's not how it works but thanks for playing.

I won't bother pointing out yet again that Tron's success works against the point of your original post...

Show me the princessfest. I'd like to take my daughters.

So far, you've been too distracted by your love of Tron to actually argue your point.

Only if they actually support the franchise in their parks.

Which they have yet to do.

What's that got to do with anything? they can make a bunch of movies, merch and cartoons but it doesn't count unless they build a ride?

(Domestically of course because one is being built in Shanghai but I guess that doesn't count because you won't get to ride it, right?)

Apparently CarsLamd didn't count either because even though it's in one of the "parks" it's not in Florida....

Really?

Not enough boutiques, merch lines, tinkerbell fairy spots, princess dinners, meet and greets, rides being built, lands being themed, etc....to qualify for you?

I think you must have missed my earlier post.

Right now there are 2 very expensive princess meals, 1 very expensive boutique, 1 ride that's too scary for most kids and soon to be destroyed, a couple of meet and greets with very long lines and 2 shows. This is across 4 theme parks.

Hardly seems like a princess fest to me. On our last trip, we had breakfast at the castle and that was our only princess experience. And that was with 2 little girls.

So, yeah, really!
