News Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

- not a maze
- definitely a ride
- but not a spinner (no Merry go Round, no Ferris Wheel)
- and my favorite (because it keeps coming up)- may or may not be Poppins. Martin and Wildcat have said that it's been thrown around, but it's not the top choice. Spirit says it's definitely not happening.

Literally nothing has been denied. All we know is that Poppins isn't the 'current flavor', so it could be Toad, Alice, Pan, Brave, Bedknobs and Broomsticks... Great Mouse Detective...

I've created a poll in the General Discussion forum. Due to only being allowed 10 options, 'Mary Poppins', 'Alice in Wonderland', and '101 Dalmatians' are listed as 1 vote each, instead of listing their individual films and remakes.
Also, due to space, I did not include Bedknobs & Broomsticks (even though I love that film), Narnia (since Disney sold the rights to some other company), non-Disney IPs (like Doctor Who, Sherlock, Downtown Abbey, and Poldark), or original ideas (like the Loch Ness monster).

Probably for the best...There's not much sense in remaking an old attraction after WDW made the conscious decision to do away w/ it. And a new attraction based on Toad would be super interesting, but always felt like a stretch. Still hoping for something Poppins-related, especially with the new movie dropping soon.

My bet is on the ExtraMary-estrial Alien Encounter, where Poppins is blown by the Eastern winds to Florida and she is none too pleased with dealing with US immigration officials.
But more seriously, I have to wonder if this will be a lift of Luigi's, Slinky Dog Spin or a similar ride. Both are designed and could easily be themed to match Poppins, Alice or really any of the others. A clone like that wouldn't be my first choice - but I can't imagine them dumping that much new R&D into a UK ride.

As they say, the marni giveth, and the marni taketh away.
Poppins was always my second choice-it's honestly in my top favorite movies of all time, and absolutely deserves a greater parks presence. (The looks a 30 year old guy can get by uttering the phrase "I think Mary Poppins is Walt Disney's crowning achievement." when talking about movies....)
