You Pittsburghers always want hand outs. :cry:Pay for my hockey team, fix my bridges so they don't collapse, stop the drink tax, lower property tax, make the Pirates win, don't let the Steelers be sold, don't let us become Cleveland, make a beltway around the city so I don't have to drive THROUGH downtown to get to the other side, make the Penguins pay for the Hill District, we need a 6th Superbowl and freebies at Disney!!!!

Now now, no one is expecting an act of God. :lookaroun

First, CONGRATS! Second, all I can say is wear the buttons and you never know. My parents went for their 25th anni. and refused to wear the buttons/have any attention drawn to them. I did manage to talk to someone at Cinderella's Royal Table, where they were having a special dinner, and mention it to them. They had the table decorated and got the champagne flutes that other posters have mentioned. Have a wonderful trip!

I can't wait when I made my adr's for my upcoming trip in Nov. The cast member asked would we be celebrating anything special and I said yes that it would be our 14th anniversary. So maybe we get some surprises as well. I do intend to ask for the anniversary buttons and will make dh wears his and he will especially if he thinks he might get free dessert.

We are going down for our 25th. I'm hoping to surprise DW with having our DS and DD come down for a few days and present her with a gift. Anything else would be a bonus for us. It will be difficult to get DS to WDW (he hate the weather in during the summer.) DD may already be packed. We just have to keep things a secret from DW until then. I'm still planning any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what all do you have to do to get one of those cakes from the GF bakery. My daughter is going to have her Birthday around the time we are there and I would love to get her one.

...and Lucky....there really isn't any difference in where you are staying as to the treatment you get.

We honeymooned at WDW and have gone back just about every year since then. We too get anniversary buttons and DH will actually wear his if I bug him enough. :D

For us it was the little things that made us smile....CM's wishing us a happy anniversary when we boarded a ride/attraction. We also received a few Magical Moments certificates which were a very nice surprise. We had breakfast one year at CRT on our anniversary and the table was decorated. They also gave us etched mini champagne glasses to take home which was a really nice surprise. We had dinner at Tony's last year and they too decorated our table and brought us desserts to celebrate.

Happy Anniversary! :sohappy:

I know you can get the buttons at that place at Downtown Disney - but do the resorts have them? We are going to be celebrating #8 while we are there :)

The check-in desks at the resorts have them. We were given ours during the check-in process. Also usually the guest services building at each park has them too.

When eating at the Garden Grill, our waitress brought us a big Happy Anniversary cake! I think it's because she saw our buttons.. My hubby was reluctant to wear them for a few days but it does come in handy..

Do you all wear them for the entire anniversary trip or just on the one special day? We usually wear them for the whole anniversary trip..just making sure we weren't over doing it.

The buttons are soooo cute, but I can't see my husband wearing one!!:ROFLOL:

Just tell him it may earn him a free drink or dessert!
In a place where so many people are walking around with Mickey ears, Sorcerer hats and the like...it's not like he'll stand out. It's not like you are asking him to wear the Mickey groom's hat...

And...if you look for them, you will be surprised at the number of birthday, 1st Visit, anniversary, honeymoon buttons folks have.

Everyone here says that the "trip" is a "birthday trip" or "anniversary trip", so yes, wear your button(s) for the whole trip and celebrate properly. There are others who have done say a birthday trip in November for two children...one born in October and one December....The trip is for their birthdays, so yea, wear it with pride.

Our resident WDW unofficial representative JPVonDrake had a great quote on this...

The best way to think of it is this:

You are always welcome to celebrate your Birthday or even your Un-Birthday with Disney, but no one truly ever ages when they are at the place where magic begins!

We were there for our 10th anniversary a couple years ago, before they had the buttons. Great things happened, which were all pleasant surprises for us. I did not have reservations note our annivresary on our room booking but I did have it listed on all of our ADRs.

At Chef Mickey's, we got the placemats and were each brought a decorated chocolate cupcake at breakfast and the characters did some dancing around us like they do for birthdays.

At Cinderella's Royal Table, we received the champagne flutes and a very pretty signed photo of Cinderella wishing us a happy anniversary.

At Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, our server brought us out a huge sundae to split and announced to the whole restaurant we were celebrating our anniversary. We had to stand up, but everyone clapped. It was kind of embarrassing but fun.

At Tony's Town Square, we were there for an early dinner seating, right around 5 p.m., and our server had the Dapper Dans serenade us. That was probably the most awesome - they sang "Bella Notte."

We did not get something from everywhere we went or from our resort, but just the little unexpected things were so special and made for a very memorable trip.
