In six days, I'll have a teenager! :dazzle: Although, Mike got the 'you don't understand me' speech yesterday  Of course, we just DON'T understand that times are different since the 80's, and it's okay if we wake up at 1 in the morning and find out she's on the computer!
She's just being a teenager!:rolleyes: Why on earth would we get mad about that??

Well I agree she doesn't need to be on the computer at 1am, but if you need to talk to someone who has been a teenager in the last 10 yrs lemme know!

In other news, my brother now has full 100% custody of my niece, and I am just so happy right now you have no idea how happy I am. Her mother lied in court about some things that she has done, things that we have seen her do, but none of us brought that up because it wasn't suppose to be about anyone but Ashley. She did however say that she feels my niece is going down the wrong path, she's seeing a 19 yo and she's 17 and 1/2 which is really not a big thing in the scheme of it all, but her grades are at an all time high and she's going down the wrong path...:hammer:...once the criminal investigation is complete I will PM all of you'lll and tell you the story that brought all of this to a head, Jenny knows a tiny bit because I told her the day it happend and she was here and I needed some comfort. But my niece is begining to realize that her mother is not a good person, and she has ill intentions (ie she wanted custody for the child support). But I am very happy with how things are turning out, obviously I'm not happy that my niece has now realized that her mother is just a person with ill intentions but that is just collateral damage in this...

I am glad that things are going good right now. :sohappy: Sorry to hear about your neice and her mom. Mom's are supposed to be a very important part of a girl's life. Some moms aren't cut out to be moms.

Thanks for the update, Christa, about your brother - I hope his daughter is able to adjust accordingly. I agree with Susie, some women are ill-equipped to be mothers - they can't get past themselves.
And thanks for the parent encouragement, Susan - it's nice to know I'm not alone on that one - it just helps to be reminded every once in a while . As I just posted over on FB, someone Abby knew from church camp just passed away from cancer - at the age of 13.:cry: Since Ab's turning 13 this week, I just turned to her and hugged till she complained. Even tho she makes me crazy sometimes, I'm just thankful for every moment. And when she has kids of her own, doing the same thing as she does, I'll be even more thankful. :D

Hello friends.

Been a busy day as I was getting the house ready for our inspection for adoption.

I had some bare walls that need some artwork so I made some Disney park icon artwork. When it is dried, I will take a picture and show everyone. I was impressed with the way it came out.

It has been extremely quiet 'round these parts this weekend - I hope everyone is doing well....
We are looking at a busy week here...lots of cleaning, someone's 13th b-day to get ready for *sniffles*, and a party for Ab with a few friends on Saturday. Also having some drywall work done to our family room and making a final decision on the laminate wood we will be getting for that room. The rest of May is looking extremely nuts. Oh, and how could I forget this? In the middle of the week will be Joel's IEP. :hammer:

Rain, rain, go away, come again at the END of May.
It's crazy here, but DH and I are okay. We have to run out and meet his brother here in a few minutes, but hopefully will safely return right after.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Found out today that they found a lump in my mom's breast. Not what I need when finals are next week. I'm so close to packing up and driving home right now. It's just three finals and it's just college. I really don't care. That news plus more drama in my house...it's really tempting me to go home. There's been a lot of problems in my house this year, but when someone tries to kick the other person in the face, you know it's bad.

This really confirms my decision to go back home. My family is the most important thing to me. I still need them, I still have a strong desire to be around them. I don't want to live in the same house anymore, but I do want to be able to see them when I want.

Other than that, things are well. Riding is absolutely wonderful. The weather has been crap for a while now and doesn't look to be getting better. Watch, we'll get warm weather the week of finals, when I'm stuck with studying. My friends who travelled with me to Aussie last summer are coming out to visit in June. I couldn't be happier. They want to go to DL...I can't wait to show them around.

Huge ((Hugs)) for you Nicole...and for your mom. I understand you wanting to rush back to be with her....but what would she want you to do? She knows you love her and you want to be there...but I would hazard a guess she would also want you to finish your semester. Then you can look back on your time in Colorado without any regrets. And I'm glad that your friends will be visiting with you as well! :)

O sweetie, first off I am so so sorry that you're currently experiencing so much stuff right now, secondly when my Dad had menegitis my sophmore year I approached each professor, as he fell ill in the middle of april and finals were 3 weeks out, and told them that I simply could no longer partake in the class due to my father's illness, the school allowed me to drop the classes at that late of a date with a W due to a family emergency clause, it might have had a more formal term but that basically is what it boiled down to, so I dropped the classes and stayed with my family around the clock. Obviously, you have to make the choice that's right for you. And if you need to talk about the problems you mentioned previously I'm here for you.
