And I Think to Myself....What a Wonderful World with Magic Friends

Um...we don't have a trip per se planned.

I may be going in Oct. for the podcast for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon. Actually, there's a good chance I will be...and he may come down for a few days...along with a friend of mine who, in my estimation, has "won" a timeshare trip....which I can't get super excited about. But it would mean I'm going to see Harry Potter.

Other than that, we're going to Key West in Dec. this year instead.

Key West is fun! The Hemingway house is pretty cool... just to see the cats alone! The swimming can be kinda iffy at times though, so be careful!

Yay for trip planning being over! :sohappy:

Oooh.. ToT sounds like it could be fun!

No Jungle Cruise?? That's pretty close to GMR.

Major yay!

Key West would be cool. :) And I hope you get to see HP as well.

I'm really excited about staying at the Hard Rock - I joked with Ab we'll be staying on club level like the 'richies' So I will be taking all kinds of pictures on this trip. Actually may be upgrading my camera - my current one is okay, but it's kind of big and bulky to hold. And I'm looking forward to not needing to pack a big bag for the parks. I think I'll put together a picture schedule for Joel to go over what we're doing each day, but he is verbal enough now to tell me what he wants to do (yay! :sohappy:).

That's so wonderful about Joel this year! (Is he doing any better, btw?)

A new camera is always nice as well. I love mine! It works really well. It's a Cannon.

Hee Hee for being a richie! :p

Well, right after conference, we went on break. So we'll see, as one day after they start back, testing begins. :dazzle: I have some things I want to send for - but we absolutely must have some kind of summer program in place for him. Or he will have a nightmare of a third grade year.
I currently have a canon - 8MP. I really like it, but as I said it's bulky.

What does the club level mean at the hard rock? Free breakfast?

Ha! I want a pic of that!

Is it a SLR camera or a point n shoot?

Hee hee - great pic!

Club level means breakfast, turndown service, afternoon snacks and desserts in the evening. I think also you get free access to their fitness center and there's a whole CD library you can borrow from and take the music back to your room to listen. :)

Well, I'm going to sound like a real dufus, but I don't know the difference. What exactly is an SLR? Since I don't know, I'll guess and say it's a point and shoot.

Hmmm....yes, that can be tricky for him. Hopefully things get back to normal quickly for him. And I hope you can find something for the summer as well.

Holy cow! If you don't mind my asking, how much do they run? I was thinking of staying at one of the Universal Hotels just for the Express Pass rights, since they're NOT equal like Disney.

Does the camera have a lens you can swap out and white balance and all that fancy stuff? If not, it's a point and shoot. One day I'll get one, but not in the forseeable future. Too many expenses for a long while.

Wow...fancy club level people!

WHF wants to do Concierge sometime when we've got extra money and can afford Wilderness Lodge. Although, he's so "cost efficient" I would very much suspect when I tell him the price, he'll be like...nah...Pop's good.

A DSLR is one of the REALLY big cameras (with the add-on lenses). Point and Shoot are the smaller cameras (all one piece).

I wish Marc were that way! He's alllllll about splurging on vacations.

Which is why we're very very poor right now. Did I mention we're leaving in a week and a half for a trip? That I don't want to go on?

Aw...why don't you want to go? I thought this was the work trip that you "get paid back" for.

And sometimes I wish mine wasn't so "cost effective." Although I do think I may have him convinced to try a moderate next time we go down together for a two of us trip...which, scarily enough, I don't think will be until 2012...and I'm thinking, if what we're talking about currently for our family life (which can change, of course) I may have to change my touring habits...OMG...scary thought!!!

Including tax, it came to around $370/night. Which I know is a lot, but even if you stay one night, you would get express pass privileges for two days. We're on the HP package though, so I don't know if that's discounted or not. You have to stay a minimum of 3 nights on that package, and we're staying 6. Theme park tickets came to another 600....our package avg was 730/person for room and tickets.

My hubby would crap a brick! :lookaroun

We're so used to going as cheaply as possible. Although that's not terrible.
