Everytime I looked at the projected path, it struck me that you don't get as many up north as the southern part of the country. So while Floridians are always thinking about it, I guess you don't as much.

Are you far from the ocean?

The ocean itself is about 25 miles from here, but we are on Narragansett Bay - about 2 minutes from here. Generally as the hurricanes come up the coast they lose energy because the ocean water is so much cooler here, while if they enter the Gulf of Mexico they tend to intensify because the water is so warm. There have been a few that have caused serious damage here, but it hasn't happened in a long time. Consequently people feel safe to build homes right along the coast, which is what has happened here. It's only a matter of time before we take a major hit, and then they'll complain that it's all the government's fault. :rolleyes:

Hello friends...I've missed you all terribly, I really should stop by more often. I did get into USF last month and am now a library and information science student, and I'm VERY happy. :)

Has anyone thought of another Magic Friends reunion? When we did it a month (or more?) ago, I thought it was great! What do you guys think...?

Well, my schedule stinks and I won't be able do it until either after October 4 or October 12. (I'll know which by next Monday... :lookaroun) But don't let me hold you guys up! I think we should at least try to do it bi-monthly!
