School doesn't start here 'til September 1, but I have to go back Thursday. I was hoping to retire this year, but it looks like I'll have to put in one more year after this. I can handle it.

Well, I hope you have a great year!

Random OT comment: Just when I think I don't have much to wear in my closet that looks all that attractive on me, I stumble across peopleofwalmart.com and my self-esteem begins to climb  Seriously, people, if you want to have a thong riding up your backside, that's your business, but PLEASE don't make it mine. :hammer:

...and don't tattoo it.....

So how was Universal Jenn?
:lol: I seriously can't believe what people are willing to wear out in public, but ANYWAY....

Universal was AWESOME; seriously loved every minute and didn't want to come home. Yes, it was miserable hot, but it was so nice doing something different and not rushing from morning till night to fit it all in. Harry Potter was amazing with all the theming. Didn't get to experience Forbidden Journey inside Hogwarts, but everything else was great. :) Joel loved Seuss Landing and Curious George Goes to Town water area, and this was the first trip we didn't have to worry about he was eating, because he had plenty of options.

That's good. How many days were you there for?

How did you like Sea World?

Honestly I think I would have liked it more if it hadn't been so incredibly hot that day...Mike said it made him think of how hot the Animal Kingdom gets. That being said, Joel loved feeding the dolphins and we enjoyed both the Blue Horizons and Clyde & Seamore shows. Unfortunately we were too done in to wait and see Believe, so the next time we get a day at SW, we will probably start with that show.
Last time I was at Sea World was when it was still in Ohio, which was 18 years ago. It was nice to share it with the kids this time.

Hello everyone!

I've already gotten Joel's paperwork done, but won't be filling out Abby's until school starts tomorrow. We had meet the teacher last night at the elementary...Joel's teacher seems like a wonderful lady; I look forward to working with her this year. I even e-mailed her today with a couple of questions and she answered me right away. :)
I imagine that's a huge relief!

Believe was so good, you have to catch it next time! I was surprised how much fun we had a SW...I've been such an 'on-property snob' just hadn't ventured outside Disney on a trip there in a LONG time

See I much prefer SW to Universal, but I haven't had to do either one in the summer for 10 years now. I do remember SW not having a lot of shade.

edit - Hi Steph!

I think that was the problem...not enough shaded benches. Too much concrete, as well. But it is beautifully landscaped park, very clean, lots of things to see. But I liked Universal for what it was: the theming was fine in my opinion, and we found lots of stuff to do. No, it's not a completely immersive experience like WDW (well, except for HP - the theming there is perfect), but it's still a very fun experience. And since my childhood was filled with Dr. Seuss, I loved Seuss Landing as much as my son.

Suess Landing is about the only thing I like there.

I wish we could have gone over to the Jurassic Park area (Joel loves dinos), but he was pretty much done after the morning, and preferred going to the pool after that. I must say Hard Rock has an amazing pool, according to Mike and the kids...I took the opportunity to enjoy the A/C in our room while they went down there, but I guess in the evening there were dance contests and hula hoop contests...very fun.
I also liked seeing the shows at the Studios: Beetlejuice, Horror Make-up, and Blues Brothers. And Mike, Abby, and I loved the MIB ride.

I love the Simpson ride - you really don't have to like the Simpson's to enjoy that ride.
