i vote music park.
[/QUOTE]
I vote Touchstone City! Mainly to draw a different crowd than the other parks. And it could be really fun to imagine its structure, and to play around with vastly different IP.
I guess I’m making things difficult... bc my vote is for either water themes. 😬

What might help is going more into why you think one park is a better choice than another. And also putting what would be your second choice.

DisneySea is pretty well done on these boards and there’s already a music park in the world, so I think touchstone is our best bet
This was sorta my thoughts too.

Port Disney would be great and give us a ton of freedom, but it would be pretty easy to become very similar to DisneySea and a lot of other fan concepts that has been worked on before.

Music Park is a super intriguing idea to me, but the other thread on it has developed into a sort of open brainstorming already. So, it might be a bit redundant to do it here too when we could just hop over there to help develop it.

Touchstone City might not give us as much freedom for traditional Disney IP and stuff. But it would help push us to thinm outside the box tonally and with what mivies we use. And we can still include a lot of original ideas that fit the more mature tone/themes and the city setting. It doesn't have to all be Fox movies or whatever.

Bottom line: Port seems most fun, Music seems most interesting, City seems most unique and intriguing. All good, but I'd probably lean to Touchstone I think.

So, should we start lands for Touchstone City? I’ve already got Danger Street lined up, with the following attractions:

* “Die Hard: Rising”: A dark-Ride-drop-tower-Coaster fusion. Riders are spun around 360 degrees as they are dropped in total darkness. The story is about the ghost of Hans Gruber possessing the tower in the first film. This serves as the park icon.
* “Armageddon”: Indoor Giga Coaster featuring dive loops and a cobra roll. Retells the events of the movie.

Danger Street is an action and adventure focused land. The main E-Ticket here is “Die Hard: Rising”, a Tower of Terror-like Ride, except even more thrilling. Riders are now flipped over, catapulted in total darkness, sent spinning as they drop, and launched at high speeds. The story involves the return of Hans Gruber’s evil spirit overtaking the building from the original Die Hard. Next is “Armageddon”, a roller coaster based on the film of the same name. This thrilling ride features a cobra roll, two dive loops, and a hammerhead turn. Con Air might be a good idea for a ride too.

Next area is known as The Lost City, home to a ride based on Apocalypto. This trackless dark ride is called “Apocalypto: They Return”, and takes riders through scenes from the movie. “Forever LOST” is a 4D coaster based on the TV series LOST, themed around riders visiting the island. Forever LOST features several different varieties of inversion, such as the cobra roll and bow tie. It’s sure to send you spinning.

Cyber Region is home to a Futurama simulator-coaster-EMV hybrid attraction (it displays a simulator film but actually does move on a track), suspended over much of the city. Reign of Fire might get an attraction here too.

Another attraction I came up with was Return to the Nostronomo, an Alien Hypercoaster. It would be one of the E-Tickets.

Touchstone City seems a bit cooler than just a bunch of portals. Danger Street would probably stay. I think the “good Vs. evil” aspects could really shine, too. Forever Lost would be moved into an area known as Mystery Alley, which might also have the Apocalypto ride. I think the Die Hard Ride would become the park icon in this case. Futurama would work well here.

Club Blue Sky could work as a flat ride area. Somewhat akin to KidZone at Universal, but probably much more self aware that it’s a “dumping ground” for those IP. The park name makes me think that maybe more vertical space would be valued as opposed to horizontal like the other parks. We’d have to bring back ESPN Zone as a new restaurant here, too.

I think there could be new hotels that work akin to the Grand Californian at DCA, located more or less adjacent to (or even within) the park, for easy entrance. “A&E Grand”, maybe? If laws allow, maybe we could even incorporate a casino?

And the name of the Halloween event could be Urban Nightmare. Or maybe Urban Hellscape. We could have full-blown gory, horrific Universal-style mazes based on American Horror Story, 28 Days Later, etc, as well as scare zones, which I otherwise feel are largely inappropriate for a Disney park.

I can’t wait to see what ride Pretty Woman gets 😁
If we could adapt the early draft of the film that was a dark cautionary tale, it could easily work. I could see the film work as maybe a stage show. Street entertainment would be fine too. On the other hand, it could also be a shop. The land could be named “Luxury Lane”, themed to romantic comedies. “Splash” would get a ride there, probably a mill chute. Maybe a “shoot the chute” ride with a story?

Unless anyone has any objections, I think Touchstone City is the right pick. All of them were great ideas though!

Disneyland originally had lands loosely based around the movie genres Walt loved and was known for. Westerns, Sci-fi, Fantasy/cartoons, and Adventure films.

Perhaps this park could have a similar design.

Each land dedicated to a different genre of film/television.

Danger Street for action movies
Lovely Lane for Romantic films
Theater District for musicals
Dark Alleys for horror
A Tech Expo for sci-fi
Etc.

That way we have a lot of freedom for original ideas and nonIP that fit with the genres as well as plenty of chances for using already famous IP

Exactly! More ideas:

Enchantment Avenue for (Dark) Fantasy
Guffaw, Inc. for Comedy
Black Light District for Crime and Punishment/Mystery
The Museum of the Arts for Arthouse, Drama, and Tragedy
Historic Touchstone City for Westerns, Documentaries, etc
Touchstone Zoo for Nature Documentaries, etc.

The “Club Blue Sky” kid’s area would be within Guffaw, Inc. which is largely an enclosed land. The main attraction at Club Blue Sky would of course be an Ice Age Coaster similar to the Matterhorn. Other than that, largely flat rides. For instance, Rio as a suspended Dumbo-Type ride, Spies in Disguise could be a scrambler, Ferdinand could be a Whip-ride. Guffaw, Inc. would feature other comedies, too. Down and Out in Beverly Hills as a dark ride (like Superstar Limo: The Good Version), American Dad, Bob’s Burgers as a restaurant there, etc.

Touchstone Zoo could feature a ride that serves as a tour of the zoo. And the universal transportation of the park could be called the “City Slicker”.

Forever LOST would be in Dark Alleys, Return to the Nostronomo would be in Tech Expo, “Splash! The Romance on Water!” would be in Lovely Lane, Apocalypto would be in Historic Touchstone City.

Con Air would be an elaborate simulator ride akin to Millennium Falcon located in Danger Street.

Now that's what I like to hear.

A Game of Thrones dining experience where guests actually get murdered throughout the course of the dinner. Crossbows, poison, stabbed, you name it.

Would be a nice dinner show if Touchstone City were to use outside properties.

Also, hotels being integrated into Touchstone City is a good idea. Black Light District could finally see the D. Tracy attractions proposed for 1990 come to life. Maybe Pulp Fiction as a licensed attraction?

15 Day Streak

New Objective Set: 25!

Previous Idea:

We explored concepts for the fabled fifth gate. Touchstone City, an urban park themed to acquired IP, won out. The park featured an array of attractions based on Disney’s subsidiaries and even licensed IPs. Alien was a popular choice, for one.

Today’s challenge:

Today, we must... build a stand-alone Disney Resort ala Aulani. Aulani is evidence a Disney Resort doesn’t need a park to work. Where should it go? What should it have?

I think Las Vegas would be a good pick for the destination of this new stand-alone Resort. Features include Pleasure Island-style clubs, a lift service over to and from DLR, and plenty of new entertainment and cuisine elements! For instance, Deadpool could get his own shop. We’d feature several types of suite.
