American Idol Experience failing!?

Are the crowds respectful if you suck or does it become like a Night at the Apollo?

Disney pre screens all contentants, so you don't get anyone who really is lousy on stage in the first place. In the shows I've watched the audience is very polite to the contestants.

They encourage boo's for the "Simon Cowell" type judge however.

It's a fairly simple solution though. Have a rotating cast of 10-15 cast members as "singers". Kind of like the guy they pull out of the audience in Indiana Jones.

We would know (and the naysayers would rejoice at the failure), but the average guest would still enjoy it.

Kinda defeats the purpose....

I am not surprised about this at all. As a previous poster said if they put this out 4 years ago I am sure it would had better success.

Biggest issue is too many shows per day. Needs 3 or 4 per day (not 6 like when I went 2 weeks ago) plus a finale.

2 people were only in the show I went to. Work on finding 9 or 12 people for now. Maybe go for more people during summer when school is out and there will be more younger people that would be willing to audition.

This is a good point.
Cutting back on the number of shows will mean more people at the shows they have.
Maybe they'll get the clue soon!

I can't say much about AI because I've never been on it, But I would liketo see it atleast once. This is the type of attraction I want to do once, but have no real desire of ever doing it again. Like someone else said, it seems like a glorified karoke club, which i can go see 5 minutes away at the local bar.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but somewhere I heard that the top contestant is offered a trip to the real AI... or something along those lines, right?

There are several problems with the show, one of them being that the "prize" is worthless to a good number of guests. I'm over 30, I sing, I'd consider spending a good amount of my day performing, auditioning, etc... except that if I win I get absolutely nothing. I can't go audition for the real show. They should give out something to the winners that has value to everyone, especially considering how much of your day gets eaten up if you make it to the final show.

Maybe in addition to winning the chance to compete on the real show they could also give away a few other things like a t-shirt that declares you the winner and a golden fastpass like they gave away during the year of a million dreams.

I went in with that attitude and ended up seeing it 3 times that day. It's the perfect time waster when you're waiting on a fastpass, etc.

They are a given a "fastpass" to the front of any AI audition around the country.

I have yet to see a live show in person. But, the failing of AIE does not come as a real surprise. This was doomed to fail from the start. We all knew that. Sadly, the powers that be failed to see it. Bring back Superstar Television.

I am volunteering my services to WDW as Vice President In Charge Of Killing Really Bad Ideas. I could have saved them a fortune on SGE and AI.

Only if you're under 30 years of age. Which knocks out a ton of the potential guests. Again, I understand they can't give away free tickets to the parks or anything, but everyone who wins one of the shows should get some form of a prize.

So lobbing your meal left overs is not encouraged?

I can always count on you for a good laugh!:ROFLOL:

This is not my "cup 'o tea" but that doesn't mean it's a bad attraction. If other people are enjoying it... then good for them! I just don't see this attraction being that popular but maybe I'm speaking from my own perspective! I have no interest whatsoever to spend my time at the "World" watching other people sing!

Exactly, and I think you figured out the problem.

Some good prizes:
Priorty Fantasmic seating.
Dream Fastpasses (but for all parks during your stay)
