All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Back to Universal, I'm kinda bummed they are going to open some version of Nintendo Land in Hollywood. I would much rather wait for the real thing in Orlando and have something new and unique in Hollywood.
Considering that they haven't started construction of Nintendo Land in Orlando, USH will be first, which is definitely good since USH doesn't have enough to see and do. Orlando will get a huge Nintendo Land in the unannounced third park. It will be huge!!! They will be unique on both coasts.

Having a video game land in a theme park about movie making is dumb. Change my mind.
The Mario movie comes out next year. I agree that it's an odd fit for the Hollywood park, but perfect for Orlando's 3rd Universal gate. But if it means I get a chance to ride Mariokart in L.A., I don't care if they build it in the Hollywood Bowl!!! :D

Lots of insider posts now that the Jurassic World finale isn't finished and won't be for a few months.
On the one hand, this is really bad for word-of-mouth among fans. Imagine opening Indy with the boulder not working. On the other hand, most of the GP actually thought Jurassic World was a great movie, and probably will enjoy the ride in its current state as long as it still ends with a big "wheeeeeeee *SPLASH*."

The Yoshi omnimover from what I’ve seen so far looks more interesting than Mario Kart. Shame that USH probably won’t have it.

If the Mario Kart is anything like this artwork suggests, I'm not sure how the Yoshi ride would be more interesting.

I'm very happy to be seeing evidence that the rumored centrifuge/sim ride system is not all there is to it, and that actual physical tracks and sets are involved. I'm sure there'll be screens galore, too, but if they're used cleverly with the real sets, this could be wonderful.

Does anyone else like the SUPER MARIO BROS. movie from the 90's in a sooo bad it's good way besides me? i really enjoy it in a very campy way.
That film just makes me angry. I can only think of 2 good things to say about it: 1) Bob Hoskins was a good choice to play Mario and 2) The movie eventually ends.

I guess it's fair to say that, with 90's technology, it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to make a live-action film that looked anything at all like the game world, but turning it into shopping mall Mad Max with discos, car chases and a human-looking Bowser was...really not a good choice.

I did sort of enjoy the opening real-world scenes with Mario and Luigi just being plumbers and Mario coaching Luigi in asking Daisy out, but the moment they go through the portal.... Gaaaaah! :D

Remember when the ride had a real name; Jurassic Park River Adventure? Now its just "_____________, the Ride!" for nearly every attraction.
They're apparently afraid the GP will not figure out the "ride" part for themselves. "Oh, look, Jurassic World at Universal Studios. Well, we've already seen that movie, so there's no need to go to the park--- WHOA-- IT'S A RIDE?!?!?!?!?!?! HOLY CR_P!!!!!"
