Why don't they just make people show proof of vaccination instead of punishing everyone because some people won't get vaccinated? The people that got vaccinated shouldn't be punished because of the people that don't want to get vaccinated because they believe in some crazy conspiracy theory or don't care enough to get vaccinated. I know some people can't get vaccinated for medical reasons, but outside of those people, everyone should be vaccinated.

What do vaccinations have to do with contraction and transmission though?

Are you guys back to waiting for negative test results before you can proceed to set-set? Watched Disney+ and had breakfast in my car for over an hour last week

As far as I’m aware that never stopped did it? At least for Union jobs. Well, at least we know we can bank on that extra $175 per test for the foreseeable future. Lol

Is wearing a mask indoors really punishment?

I am fully vaccinated and I could care less, especially if it means everyone who is spreading this thing also has to mask up again.

After a year of putting up with mask wearing despite it making my severe sinus issues drastically worse, I shouldn't have to go back to dealing with what I thought I was free from because some people are too lazy to get vaccinated.

I never complained during the initial mask mandates, I put up with it for the greater good, but at this point, I am being punished for the actions of people too lazy to get vaccinated.

If you are vaccinated, you are extremely unlikely to get or transmit COVID. The entire purpose of getting vaccinated is so you don't get COVID.

This is true, if transmission is low, and majority are vaccinated.

With high transmissions comes a higher risk of you becoming a breakthrough case. And while it may not be as bad, you can still have negative results, and you can still possibly pass it along continuing the chain of transmission.

So really, the best option is to continue to mask up in less distanced, crowded, indoor settings - or risk the chance of Covid 🤷‍♂️

And I really don't mean this to pick on you - genuinely, I get it. It Sucks. But quite frankly, a virus isn't fair. A pandemic is not fair.

Why the heck did I get to be alive during this? How is that fair? How is it fair so many lost their lives prematurely.

All we can do is go with the flow, and be grateful we are still getting another day on earth.

Then why are so many people who got vaccinated testing positive? Vaccinations are to help prevent you from getting really sick or dying in the event you catch the virus. I’m not sure how much they help with contraction/ transmission.

This. The COVID vaccine doesn’t necessarily prevent folks from getting the virus, but lessens the chances of serious or deadly cases. Fully vaccinated people are still getting it. Rare, but it’s happening.

Yep, they can get it but reports are that its incredibly mild...think allergies or mild cold. In LA county and Clark County (Vegas), 100% of covid hospitalizations are non-fully vaccinated people.

Unfortunately, while this seems to some as a punishment, the real problem is those who are unvaccinated and have chosen to put themselves and other unvaccinated folks at risk. The county really had no other option than to say "I guess we have to force this on everyone because we can't trust people to do what's right". They aren't trying to protect people like me that have been vaccinated, it's all about protecting the non-vaccinated and slowing the spread amongst that group. I have no doubts this will be mandated in other counties sooner than later.

Fully vaccinated people that never contracted it and allowed themselves the 2 weeks to allow both doses of the vaccine to kick in cant contract or transmit the virus.
Not entirely true. Fully vaccinated people may still transmit the virus but likely at a much lower rate according to the report below. That being said, there is still much more research to be done on the topic

Its very unlikely or rare that you do and its still safer to get the vaccine than not getting it.
