I have been to Knott's Berry Farm many times, and never skip seeing Mystery Lodge... but I never noticed before that there was a giant Indian Chief carved into the rocks there above the entrance! How did I miss that all these years???

I first saw Mystery Lodge at the 1986 World's Fair up in Vancouver, where it was the signature attraction of the GM pavilion. It was a beautiful and impressive show 35 years ago and it still is today. So glad they've kept it going! Last time I saw it a few years ago with some family, the theater was nearly full.
I'd hate to see it go but if it did could it be a Haunted Shack dark ride? Imagine a Gunner Holt western haunted house with just enough cheese for everyone.

When I worked at KBF, he was informally called "Sad Eye Tony". Searches online do not seem to recognize him by that name, though. I was hoping to learn more about him. Anybody have photos of the posters and things in the Mystery Lodge exit "garage"? I know there is a poster with "credits". Mystery Lodge was made in partnership with the Namgis first nation people of Alert Bay. So much real culture and history behind it.

I've watched the Indian dancer show a number of times. I enjoyed the show but thought it got a little preachy when Gary Burnett started to talk. It's a very unique show.

I agree, although it also gave me a greater sense of reality of what Native people have faced. Him talking about what happened to his family was very eye opening. I'm not sure a theme park show is the right place for the conversation, but if you have a platform and an audience....

Knotts is good with it so I am too. That is one thing that would never happen at Disneyland.

I walked around the park (exterior) yesterday, doing a 5K Walk.

There were workers on site, And things are being done, such as the shade covering over the Charles Schulz Queue bridge/ramp.

Others have said that work is continuing.

That said, it might be ready to go at re-opening, or they might wait a bit to allow for testing. I think it depends on how much time "associates" get to prepare the park for opening, as they get to be the Guinea Pigs for the rids (DOSH rules only allow employees to ride prior to the ride's permit to operate).

Cedar Fair cut about half of its capital improvement projects, but left funds to complete projects that have been started.

But the rumor Knott's expansion took a hit.

It makes sense that the Knott's expansion got hit. That's too bad. I assume they will finish the Knotts Berry Tales overlay. I wonder if Mystery Lodge will reopen or is it too far gone?

One good thing, the actual Annerversary is in December, so easy to carry over the 100th celebration. Heck Disneyland made the 50th last Two and a half years!

This is true and while I think there will be a slump in expansions, I think in the long run, everything will come back stronger and we may see an even bigger expansion.

As long as they can reopen for Haunt I'll be happy.
I think we will probably see a June reopening, but I wouldn't be surprised if Haunt is cancelled or drastically modified this year, as the typical haunt crowd levels probably won't work. Of course if blacklights really prove as effective at killing the virus as they appear so far, that might be a way around the issue.
