From left to right;
'59 Plymouth Savoy convertible
'59 Plymouth Suburban wagon
'57 Ford
'59 Chevrolet convertible
'59 Plymouth Suburban wagon
'56 (?) Pontiac
'55 or '56 Chevrolet
'57 or '58 Buick

Am I good, or what?!? But if there are any mid 50's GM fans out there, please correct me if I'm wrong on those last few cars in the lineup. It's harder to see them and identify just by that small glimpse of the rear fenders, but I know some folks can do that better than I can. That one I identified as a '56 Pontiac may actually be a mid 50's Packard or Studebaker, judging by the massive chrome bumper.

This stuff is important! Also, that photo is taken roughly where the TGIFridays currently stands, if I'm not mistaken. Judging by the angle of the sun, no car past model year 1959, and the hemlines on the two middle aged women, this photo was taken in the summer of 1959. I'd bet two churros on that.

Knott's will start offering their chicken Dinners to go on May 5 for curbside and walkins for take out on May 6.

Oh my gosh, thank you for letting us know about that! I am going to give them a week to work out the kinks, but then in mid May I'll definitely head over there to pick up a chicken dumpling dinner with all the fixin's! I needed a mid-term goal!

I do too. My kids and I just did it last year. You can clearly see we get a lot less for our money than back forty years ago.

No offense, but maybe you and your kids just aren't cut out to be gold miners?

I did the Pan For Gold thing with family a few years ago at Knott's, and I still have the little vial with some decent amounts of gold in it. The 49'er running the location complimented me on my panning skills. I still keep the little vial on my bar, just in case I come across a cocktail recipe that calls for gold flakes.

But the thing I remember the most is the backache I was left with after hunched over panning for gold for 5 minutes. I ended up later at the nurses station for some aspirin, and she told me with a straight face that it's the leading cause of injuries at Knott's Berry Farm. Magical memories!

Your old.🧐

Besides, there is a difference between now and then. Back then you got little nuggets. Now you get small flakes.

Back then, you could use a Coupon from your "Bonanza" book to Pan for Gold.

Boy, it's 40 minutes away, but the 9 piece bucket and a boysenberry pie would last me awhile and be a wonderful nostalgia and comfort food trip.

That $29.00 deal sounds sooo freaking good. like you really get your money's worth plus you get some freaking pie. omg i can taste it already. to me, Mrs. Knott's Chicken is the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. It is perfect every time. I miss it soo much. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. I am envious of all you who are going to do curbside pick up next week.
