Went to Yak and Yeti when it had only been open for a few months. We loved it, and only went because it was pouring out! Its neat when you find a new place that you never planned to go to. Try the spring rolls!

I really really want to try San Angel Inn just for the ambiance alone! The problem is 1) the horrible reviews on these boards and 2) and most importantly...I don't like Mexican food! :brick:
But my boyfriend likes Mexican but I can't bring myself to try it. So I'm jealous of you for trying it! It looks so gorgeous!

You won't be disappointed with Teppan Edo. Dinner and a show? yes please. Consistently good food. You'll love it!

Obviously everyone has had good and bad experiences everywhere, but here's my 2 cents:

Teppan Edo - Loved it! Went for the first time and will definitely go back. It's a total departure from any other food location on property. We have great hibachi here in NY - but it's still fun to have it on vacation!

50's Prime Time - never been - maybe next trip!

Hoop-de-do-revue - We go every trip. We actually pay for Category 1 for the earlier shows and use the extra table credit for signature dining (Flying Fish?!)

San Angel Inn - Haven't been in a while but LOVE the atmosphere and enjoyed the food - the giant Margarita helped with enjoying EVERYTHING that day! ;)

Flying Fish - YUM!! There's a trio of chocolate dessert that I still dream about.

Yak and Yeti - I thought it was really good. My dad still talks about how great the ribs are and we were there over 2 years ago - those ribs made quite and impression!

Have a great trip!!

Teppan Edo - Love it! Only complaint is the desserts are meh. Not bad, but nothing special.

50's Prime Time - I enjoyed the 'show', but was underwhelmed by the food. Mediocre home cooking.

Hoop-de-do-revue - Enjoyed the show, the food is OK. The beer tastes like watered-down 'lite'.

San Angel Inn - Hate it. The dining room is so dark you can't see what you're eating. The food is not particularly good. I've had much better.

Flying Fish - The food it absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is very loud, don't expect to have any conversation without yelling.

Yak and Yeti - Only ate there once. The service was excellent. I had the Mahi Mahi, the fish was overcooked and very dry. I'll go again sometime because the ambience was pleasant and the service impressed. One dish isn't enough to condemn the place.

Everything on the list sounds good to me except for Teppan Edo. Went there for the first time in January and was far from impressed. I think a good part of it is that Hibachi style restaurants aren't hard to come by in my area, and because of that I have been to ones that are much better. Our chef was entertaining, but I personally will go somewhere else next time with all the other options available to me.

We went with the only new places a couple of years ago and it made for a really good trip!! We have a couple of new places for this trip also!! Most of your choices are good ones...not a fan of San Angle Inn (was on first time list 2 years ago) food want not the best and service was really slow. Trying Yak and Yeti for the first time this trip!!!

the Hoop Dee Doo day, i would plan to be at MK or at least be able to come from there. the boat from MK is easiest way to get there. on way there by bus will need a second bus at the campground, also includes driving by car. no car parking near Hoo Dee Doo.

I think it is great that you are trying new places. It makes the trip new and exciting.
I like 50s Primetime and San Angel Inn. I know they both get a bad rap, but I like them.

we are going to try all new places this year too, its so easy to get stuck with the same places. Yak n Yeti has great drinks and spring rolls. Tepan Edo is fun, your typical hibachi. Trying Hoopdee this year. San Angel Inn was great 4 years ago. Never been to 50's, doesnt appeal to us, but i here the food is fairly good.

Thanks for all the great info! San Angel was something I was hesitant on because of the mixed reviews but we are staying at the BCV and I wanted to also spend less time traveling to our meals than we had in the past.

Our last trip I tried to plan each hour and although it was a great time we found ourselves rushing around all over WDW to meet an overly ambitious schedule.

This trip I'm planning just the dinners and keeping them close to BC and keeping them new. Part of this is driven by DW's complaints about Disney which are 1) I want to go somewhere I can relax not run from one thing to another and 2) I want to do something different.

DW is not a big Disney fan but she picks a week at the beach and I try to get a WDW vacation in every 2 years.

I took your suggestion. I was going to use 2 credits on the DP for HDDR category 2 and pay for Flying Fish out of pocket - but I upgraded to category 1 and will now pay out of pocket for FF - might cost me a few bucks but I think it will be worth it.

Thanks!

Great and fun idea! We have a dining rule that we are only allowed to eat a any restaurant 2 trips in a row and then take a break from it. This helps to encourage us to try new places too.
We loved Flying Fish, I had the most amazing scallops over risotto there a couple years ago and my best crabcake in DW to date. yummy!
Yak and Yeti is one that we've done 2 trips in a row and love.
Hoop de doo is a lot of fun and the food is pretty good too.
Haven't tried your others.
We are trying almost all new places for our dinners next trip too, here's our list: Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Rose and Crown, Sci Fi, Chef Mickey's (always do the breakfast), Tony's Town Square and TRex
Can't wait, have a magical trip and enjoy the food!!
