think that they need to do an overhaul on on space mountain and put in a whole new track with a new layout and they filn your ride. The ride system would be like Maverick at Cedar Point, like the track, and then the cars would be like that except that there would be no inversions and the cars woulf be themed like rockets with lap bars. They could do a lot more with the ride and put in more launch and it would be a lot smoother, I mean a lot! This is probaly one of my always far fetched ideas but anyone that's been to cedar point should agree. At least to me it seems reasonable.

Rather than do 1 collosal thread on D23 I decided I would just post my notes in each of the currently going threads as not to add to the clutter. This info is based on things I learned from the presentations, talking with imagineers, overhearing things and then coming online and piecing things together with what others have heard as well as from watching the aftershow press conferances. So first stop the Magic Kingdom:

-The plans for Pixie Hollow are very much in flux right now some plans call for just meet & greets/playarea while others call for attractions including the dark ride that I and others have talked about. I have a hunch one of the attractions for this area that is under consideration was shown in the D23 Imagineering video (where the guy walks into a room and sees an ice monster and asks tink for "some dust")

-Peter Pan & It's a Small World will be undergoing major refurbishments as part of New Fantasyland. These rides will be shut down for refurb THIS YEAR!

-After Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise is being planned for a redo as Sir Goofy has said.

-Disneyland's Haunted Mansion will be getting more stuff in January when it reopens. No clue as to when or if, WDW's version will get the new stuff (I sure hope so though).

-Barnstormer will remain but will be rethemed. Those plans are currently influx. The two biggest contenders are Cheesire Cat coaster as part of the new Wonderland Woods and the other contender is for it to become a new attraction in Dumbo's Circus.

-Ricky Bergainte (spelling?) from Orlando Attractions/Inside the Magic asked John Lasseter a great question about wether the new Winnie the Pooh and Rapunzel would be represented in New Fantasyland. Lasseter said that Pooh will be getting a new themed queue and that the area around the ride will be redone to create a Pooh miniworld. As for Rapunzel, Lasseter said that it is way too early to tell but should the movie be a hit, there will be room for Rapunzel down the line. So in other words, no plans at this time.

-This is the first time I have heard Disney refer to Eric Jacobson as the lead Imagineer over Walt Disney World. I remain skeptical since he has been involved with alot of less than stellar stuff in the past but I really want him to surprise me and prove me way wrong.

-There is phase two plan (2013-20??) for New Fantasyland which include the Casey Jr. ride that I love so much at Disneyland. However, the imagineers said it may be a version of Casey Jr. that we haven't seen in any other park.

-Fantasyland will get a new train station.

-When asked if this Fantayland redo is only for girls, the imagineers said that "well if you look at the films there is also swordfighting, dragons, villians, etc." and that there should be stuff for the whole family.

-Beast's Castle will be a table service Restaurant by day and transform into a full service restaurant at night. It has 3 chambers: West Wing Antichamber (Darker room with alot of haunted mansion style effects), Main ball room (shown in the concept art), and a "servants quarters" type room that will provide the backstory on all the charecters and denzens of the mansion. How they were before they were cursed and the room will have transformation effects.

Will post more later

Last time I hear, which granted was a long time ago, we were due to get hatbox.

Very interesting stuff. I heard on WDW Today (they were quoting Jim Hill) about the transforming nature of Beast's Castle. I thought they stated it would be table service at night and quick service at night. I could be wrong. In any case, that seems like it would be incredibly difficult. I don't buy it. Where did you hear that?

I hope your right.

I want DL characters in ours, with the exception of a couple that I think don't fit the style. Otherwise, I think that refurb was perfect. I think it should've come to WDW first to 'test' guest reaction in a less 'die-hard' market, though.

I know you're really excited about JC given your position, but I would really rather see a 'big' refurbishment come to another attraction first. JC being a bit cheesy (and maybe even outdated) is fine given the nature of the attraction. I'm sure I could be dissauded once I see/hear about the plans, but as of right now, I'd rather have that money spent elsewhere. That said, I am happy to hear that Disney wants to spend money plussing the classics.

Agreed. I don't want Stitch.:lookaroun

Honestly, if the finished product is anything like the plans I've heard, you will really be happy. It could rival the HM refurb, maybe even surpass it, if done like it should be.

And don't worry about the other classics, they'll get their due. It's on a cycle. I think BTM will follow JC.

I don't mind the Disney characters being in iasw -- I really like the HKDL version, in fact. However, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have at least one version remain the "original," unadorned version -- just as they've done with the Enchanted Tiki Room (DL) and the Swiss Family Treehouse (MK). If they do add Disney characters, however, it would be nice to have some unique ones, so that it's not a perfect overlap with one of the other two versions of the attraction that have them. HKDL has Bambi, Thumper, Marie, princess Cinderella, Pocahontas, etc.; DL has Alice, the White Rabbit, servant Cinderella, Jiminy Cricket, etc. The MK version could have its own characters that are found in neither of the other two iasws.

I like the Pooh queue re-theming. I hope Snow White's queue gets some attention as well.

I hope they go with the Wonderland Woods idea -- since we don't have an Alice dark ride, a Cheshire Coaster would complement the Teacups nicely. Wonderland plant theming could also be really cool, with AA flowers and giant mushrooms. Other than a Casey Jr. theme or a flying elephants theme, I'm not sure what other coasting/gliding/coaster-type theme they could do with Dumbo -- and I'd rather see Casey Jr. in its own attraction, rather than as a re-do of the Barnstormer.

Stitch is the first thing that came to mind (there were 2 others, if I recall correctly). Nothing against Stitch, I just thought it looked nothing like the other characters. Really out of place. Same with the other two with which I had problems.

I'm fine with the JC getting its 'due' if it truly is that awesome. I guess I can't really think of what needs it more. It would probably come down to that and Stitch's Great Escape (if we have to choose), I suppose. If doing something to SGE also meant something happening to the Tiki Room, I probably would pick that. As much as I hate SGE, though, it just seems too new to fuss with yet. The question becomes: fix what's due or fix what just sucks (but is new). I'm not really sure; tough call for me.

Three words: Ludwig Von Drake.

I also would like some characters from Aristocats, but I realize both Ludwig and the cats are probably too obscure (hope I don't sound like one of those people who suggest we get Meet the Robinson characters in the parks!).

I see where you're coming from, but a lot of MK's classics are stuck in the 70s and 80s. While SGE does suck on an epic level, the basic ride controls and some effects in a lot of these rides is starting to get embarrassing.

I like LVD, but where would he go?

Marie is big in Asia -- hence her appearance in HKDL's iasw. I think many visitors to WDW wouldn't recognize any of the Aristocats.

I'm a big fan of the Three Caballeros and so I appreciated their inclusion, but Kuzco would also be a nice addition to the South America set. Snow White would be a natural for Germany; Aurora for France.

I guess I should have thought about that before I suggested it. Forgot about IASW's theme. LVD probably has no place.

I agree that Aristocrats probably aren't popular enough here. That's why I made the comment about not wanting to be one of those people who suggests Meet the Robinson's (which is not even popular now, and it's relatively new...imagine how well it will age!) for Tomorrowland.

Good stuff....I'm just very against characters in IASW.:dazzle: Talk about ruining Blair's art. Yeah, I said it.:lookaroun

The rest is AWESOME, though. Hope it happens.:D
