Does anyone else think they should rename Future World into something more fitting like Present World?

No.

FW is suppose to showcase ways to make our lives in the future better, safer and easier with innovative & imaginative ideas.

Illuminations should be changed a little, but overall I found nothing wrong when I visited Epcot a year ago.

Characters? Seriously? The meet and greets fit but a actual attraction based on the fantasy of it? No...

Well said but JIYIYwF still falls flat. It has lost the ability to attract guests to it and it really leaves lots of empty space. The ride itself is okay but it lacks what the pavilion ultimately needs, and that is imagination.

Compared to the old one, yes. Just look at the attraction NOW. It's fine. A little bare-bones, yes, but it's not bad. It's no classic either, but it has Figment. Something we wanted back in 2001.

Will I be fine with it forever? No. It's wearing out it's welcome even now....I've just always considered it a place holder until they bring it back upto par.

Unless random character tie-ins to pavilions that doesn't actually continue their original meaning and was fine without anything to lure tourists in is the goal they're trying to set EPCOT with, I can't seem to see its meaning now. It's almost non-existent in some parts..... :shrug:

As in the case of Nemo, all I ever get is that there's a clown fish that intentionally tricks other unsuspecting fish to stop whatever they're doing and search all over the big blue world for the little brat... :lookaroun:lol:

When they remove the tombstones, this needs to return as well as the prism in the fountain. Dedication plaques should not be changed...

It's fair to middling right now. It's helped along by SSE, TL, and MS. JII and UoE, sorta. TLS, TT...Not at all.

It's still there, though... At least in the feeling and in the architecture.

The original, the bronze one OUTSIDE of the park is gone. Sold on eBay.

And I agree. The original should ALWAYS be there despite name, logo and what have you changes.

Energy is about how we have to find new sources and balance other out in order to power the future, Test Track is about testing the cars we'll eventually drive and even showcases new innovative designs, Imagination is what drives the future and something we need to create all the new stuff there, despite the Nemo theme the Seas still does important marine research especially the work with Dolphins and turtles. Got nothing on Soarin though...

Soarin' is part of a greater The Land experience. The whole pavilion works together, not separately.

I get that from the Test Track (I guess), but it is a stretch. I didn't get that from energy. What I go out of energy is how far we've come with new and now dated ways of acquiring energy. Imagination .... so Kodak imagination center is futurisitic? Figment inspires the future? More like testing your senses and being annoying. HiStA.... I don't have to say anything about that attraction, it speaks for itself. Nemo just tells a story with a setting in the "big blue world". Soarin' gives the experience of flying over amazing sights of the land....
