Can I add, though, that another character based change at EPCOT (Gran Fiesta Tour) sits a lot better with me than Living Seas with Nemo. Part of it is that I love to see Donald with his "own" ride, but part of it is that they also mostly respected the old ride, and the purpose of the ride hasn't changed too greatly (i.e. the ride still serves to promote Mexico).

I miss the old living seas...not necessarily the ride/attraction, but the idea that man could one day live and work in the sea...it saddens me that we have somehow lost that hope/optimism.

Doesn't mean they can't or won't bring it back. In fact I think we will eventually have the EPCOT Center ideals return in time. With a limited ammount of character stuff.

Agreed, it's something that EPCOT as a whole needs to redress.

Agreed again. ERDTiempo felt more mature and mystical, but GFT works...

I still think Nemo may have been a "beta test" for the Little Mermaid ride technology. In which case it may be "temporary". As in a 5 or 10 year lifespan.

Its just too bad they cant follow through with something they started and finish it, SSE. Good thing about GFT and Nemo is at least they were completed whether one likes them or not (Except they do have the same lame story line, wheres nemo, wheres donald, uggg). Hmmm lets see, Imagination was a fiasco, TestTrack was an opening fiasco, SSE was a fiasco and still is.... whats their problem! Seems like Soarin was the only thing that took off right from the start in terms of new things/refurbs.

And Toy Story Mania, and AIE.
