Mission Space - This ride was a collossal failure. It seems that they wanted to pay homage to Horizons or adhere to some corporate mandate by incorporating a level of interactivity with the ride. The problem is, that interactivity is fake. Arcades have simulators that do the same thing (sans the g-forces) and they can be interactive. How difficult would it be to have consequences for not pressing the buttons at the right time? It would make each ride somewhat unique, and infinitely improve the quality of the ride.
Probably pretty difficult. It is a giant centrifuge, spinning. If the "cars" did not respond in the same way, there would probably result in abnormal stresses on the "ride structure" ( kind of like when your clothes washing machine is unbalanced and you hear the "thump- thump- thump" as the machine travels across the floor.:lookaroun [ who me?]).

I haven't been on the spinning version in a while, but is the centrifuge spinning at all after the line "Zero G"?

I'm not talking about the G-Forces being implemented differently, but having cab #3 rumble differently than cab #7, and cab #5 turn to the left while cab #8 turns to the right. If the arms themselves aren't moving, I wouldn't think this would be too difficult to program.

Yes, it's still spinning for certain parts. Two, with different cabs doing different things at the same time, it would put uneven stress on the structure, as was said above.

Fair enough, what about having different screen options that are still synced with whatever cab movement is necessary?

Hi everyone, heres a brand new update.
SSE Update 3/26

Ascent, star lights on the left side of the wall and overhead after your picture is taken are all still off. Right side is on. The wrinkles in the curtains along the sides throughout the whole ascent are tacky.

In the first cave man scene (screen wall) the florescent lights were on under the tracks, shining all the way up into the room. You could see the rock work and plywood cutouts along the side. Were talking bright flourscent light coming up. They must have been working down there or something. Have never ever noticed track lights on like that before (didnt even know they had them so that was interesting)

Sound through the whole ride was wonderful, its been great lately.

The telegraph scene on the right side is riddled with massive cobwebs both on the actual set and along the backdrop right next to it. Um could someone take a duster to these? But at the same time it kinda makes it even a little more authentic in a way.
Opposite side the telephone operators- their audio and sound effects were off.

Ok the descent.....the work area in the star/space field on the right, right after you pass the blue lights....the work area was totally lit again with a light and stool sitting there. Curtain wall is still there unchanged, BUT there are many more triangle panels added as has been reported. Couple seem to be right against the curtains which worries me (im getting to a point where I think if anything is being done behind there "I'll believe it when I see it", im not sure my hope is too strong for this area now.) But the area where the panels come together in a triangle? Well now that area has many many more triangle panels around it and they were all glowing bluish purple and changing shades. Continuing downward, it was all pretty much the same just alot more panels and I think some more star lights? Chicken wire was still there, but it looked like there were more worklights on above that, so I def feel like there is ongoing work, I just dont see it as being anything major.

Just a thought....since they already show everyones faces on all the screens around Project Tomorrow, I dont see them including these on the panels too? Isnt that kinda overdoing it? If the darn things ever do get turned on all the way, Im thinking they will just glow the same way some of them do now. But maybe and hopefully with more light effects and hopefully a musical ending.

Thats all, just what I noticed today.

Last time I checked The Rescuers Down Under and The Rocketeer are still in print on DVD. Cool that they use those soundtracks though (bought Rocketeer's on CD at DTD Virgin a couple years ago, RDU was re-released in 2002 and went OOP in 2004).

Just got back from Best Buy and The Rocketeer was $9.99 on DVD with a coupon for a free movie ticket to Race to Witch Mountain and The Rescuers Down Under was $14.99.

Other Disney films I found a good bargain:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit: $14.99
The Black Hole: $9.99
Island At The Top of the World: $14.99
Treasure Planet: $14.99
The Rescuers: $14.99
Escapt to/Return From Witch Mountain: $14.99/ea.
Tron: $14.99

Rocketeer's DVD was $8 here at one point but I refuse to buy it until Disney at least decides to give 16x9 enhancement to the image and some decent bonus features. Until then Disney, I'm keeping the torrent.

Now lets get back to Epcot...
