1998/9 was bad? I visited then...What was so terrible? Horizons being gutted?
Where to start.... for those who hold the parks hey day in the late 80`s and early 90`s it was awful. I`m not talking about a park full of Omnimovers, more the scope, the scale, the overall theme and the nothing-comes-near feeling. Nowerdays IOA has a more cohesive theme and is technically superior. For example.
Martin, any hope that the large landscaping project in FW will be done, as you alluded to a while back?
It`s still planned, but so are 30+ major projects property wide that are hiding behind the economy.

Ah...Right. That was the in between period. I guess I didn't perceive it then, but the park was stale?:(

And I HATE the econ.:fork::lol:

Expo - simply wonderful. Great photoshopping! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Well, at least a redo is in the works, but if things keep getting worse, you can bet that new landscaping for Epcot would probably be the first thing to go. :( Just a guess on my part...

And I agree, this economy stinks. Still, its going to be kinda amusing to read about how great the economy has been in recent years in our econ textbooks this semester. Oh how things have changed. :(

It's the "nothing-comes-near" feeling that many people, including WDI, want to restore to Epcot. Nobody is asking for the same park as 1986. Times have changed, and Epcot was always supposed to change with the times. But the park hasn't.

It`s still planned, but so are 30+ major projects property wide that are hiding behind the economy.

Hence the very popular Slash and Burn thread in the News/Rumors forum. While I understand the need to conserve money in a poor economy, WDW is not just another retail business business; it's a tourist destination, and needs to be prepared for an influx of Guests when the economy rebounds.

we don't have icky plants in our future world, just alot of blue and grey and even attractions that sweatshirt moms can enjoy with fanboys and fangirls
