Please allow me to say that this thread is AWESOME!!!

It is almost frustrating to ride SSE, because all of the pieces seem to be falling in place to finish the descent in a way that could set the tone for a return of EPCOT Center!!! I can't wait for that Wow...I have missed it so...

Expo and I have been talking about that for a few weeks now.

I say it's VERY plausible that they can get that spirit and the IIE back into the park, but I don't think it will ever be renamed. But...you never know!:king:

I can only imagine those conversations! :)

It would be amazing to have that happen!

Epcot itself offers a nice variety of choices more than it ever did before. One big issue with it was that is was deemed boring because of the numerous AA rides.

SSE looks great with the new plants and trees and color schemes and music in the plaza....,which I think should also be in the entrance plaza! :sohappy:

The journey up into the ascent looks great though those star curtains need some ironing :brick:

The Dame Judi narration is.....OK....yes postitive and upbeat and I like how it seems we are really on a time trip with a guide.

So long as SSE can get a more fitting ending

and if the entrance plaza and innoventions plaza can be spruced up with new color schemes, sidwalks, and foliage, I think we will find not an EPCOT Center but an Epcot that has finally gone in a positive, sleek, and futuristic approach

especially if Imagination gets a facelift

Soarin' changes to a global film

and energy and WoL get updates

the problem I see with Epcot is more in its asthetic than its rides and shows.

There is no central theme in future world

its like a salmon and grey shopping mall with whirly gigs as the sweatshirt moms and lolgirlz walk in and out of the nemo department store or test track supplies.

Future World will always have that hard core post modern look to it, but they can always refreshen it with new color schemes and plants and music that the fit present day look at what we see in the future....and that is right now mostly silvers, blacks and blues....sharp....not over the top, but sleek.

Spaceship Earth's exterior looks great at the entrance, but that blue should wrap all the way around the building on the earth station.

Heavy EPCOT Center bold fonts should give way to thinner sans serrif fonts. The current serrif EpCot hungry C eating dah Eoith isnt as fitting as a thinned down sleeker version of the original EPCOT Center font.

And giving the buildings new logos would work well on new signs

We gotta get out of the late 90s hodge podge and work on a new solid brand

it seems like once the SSE ending is finished (thank God in 2009) that it will be a while before the rest of future world gets spruced up

maybe Imagination but prolly not a whole lot after that :dazzle:

True, the biggest problem right now with Epcot is the asthetics. Future World has been stuck in the late 90's/turn of the Millenium for too long. Innoventions and Innoventions Plaza are such a mess right now, and have been for some time. Just saw an video from 1994 from Epcot and wow, was that area different; so much nicer. Even the FoN was 10 times better. I can tolerate LaL in the entrance plaza, especially if they would get rid of the overgrown shade trees and frame SSE with ascending rows of palms once again. But the Innoventions area is a disaster that desperately needs a makeover.

As usual, agreed. FW Central and East need a make over. FWE is overgrown with ickyplantz (:lookaroun) and has too much visual noise. UoE and it's many colors, TT and it's banners and gleaming MS is too much to handle. MS should be the focus point with the WOM building and it's architecture supporting it. UoE could EASILY be made to look metallic too.

FW West on the other hand...Perfection. :D

Is this a new picture? Are they truly getting rid of the awful blocky things going up the legs of SSE? If so, oh how wonderful. Now just kill all of Leave a Legacy and spruce that area back up to the beautiful entrance it once was and I'll be a happy man (especially if a better ending is coming for SSE).

I could not agree more that the attraction variety is there, and that there is a stale sense around FW. But it's a stale that can be easily fixed!!!

The pavilions are still relevant, and have potential to be even better.

I am ever hopeful that our idas and opinions will be heard, and that EPCOT Center will find it's voice and heart.
