Alcohol Around The World!

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Drinking round the world is only a challenge during the Food N Wine Festival, unless of course your only drinking large beers, where gas is more of an issue than the alcohol content.

But remember kids its not big and its not clever, but it is fun.

OK - I have done the research and am now prepared to answer. It looks like Norway serves its alcohol in the Akershus Restaurant. The serve a lot of mixed drinks (primarily with a base of vodka) and potato vodka is the big thing in Norway. I get ten points for my answer regarding Japan - they do serve sake. The Kaki Gori food cart located in Japan sells sake and Kirin Draft Beer. Moving on to China - at the Lotus Blossom Cafe you can get Chinese Beer and Chinese Wine.

Hope this helps!!

Thank you for the research, its much appreciated!

Modori is from Japan:confused:

The kids love the shaved water ice from the cart in Japan. Of course I must get a cup of Kirin while there. The ladies working there are wonderful as well. I bought two shaved ice cones, two beers and one plum wine but they didn't have a drink carrier so the lady helped me carry it back to my family who was watching the show next door.

The kind of service I have come to expect from Disney!

    • China – Plum Wine
    • Germany -
    • Italy – Rosa Rigale, Bellini, Italian Margarita
    • United States – Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat Ale
    • Japan – Sake, Kirinn Beer, Modori
    • Morocco – Moraccan Coffee, Frozen Daiquiri

Downtown Disney Marketplace...

You can't beat the "Margarita Bar" along the water in the Marketplace. It is behind the pin traders, in front ot the "Once Upon a Toy" store. While the different margaritas are good, it's the 'Rum-Runner" that takes the top prize!

try starting in Canada instead of Mexico... beer in the first two pavillions is better than starting with Tequilla IMO.

Try the spiked coffee in Morroco, it's great!

Made it all the way around just one week ago!

That was my plan...starting with tequilla would kill me by the time I got to Japan!

Sorry but the Cherry Wheat is only in America during the Food and Wine Festival. If you want to get a draft Sam Adams, go to the counter service to the left of American Adventure. The carts only serve bottles but the counter has draft.

Also, check out the Rose and Crown in the UK. They have a beer sampler where you can try all their beers at once (in seperate glasses of course). This will give you a nice overview and let you figure out what you like and don't like. Then you can go back and order more!

As for Germany, they have the gigantic 1L steins in the Biergarten. I think they're $9.60 a piece but worth every penny. If you're not a big fan of the taste of beer, try the 1/2 beer 1/2 sprite drink (can't remember the name). The wife had it and loved it.

Yes I LOVE beer. Went to London last year and it's an art form over there. The US needs more pubs!

Well, as a canadian, from Montreal, Quebec, (where the Labatt Bleue is from), I would say go with a Molson, Molson Export if available. Labatt Bleue is a cheap beer that tastes horrible, IMHO, especially the light one... In Quebec, its popular mainly because, in french, "bleue" means blue, which is the color of Quebec's flag... But still, as a french canadian (I'd rather say québécoise!), as attached to that flag as I am, I still wouldn't drink that horrible Labatt Bleue... So go with a Molson, a pretty good canadian beer!
