Al Lutz -- Fantasyland budget cuts

I really, really can't talk about it. It would get people fired, including myself.

It has nothing to do with Fantasyland, but it's a gross cost cutting measure that literally made me sick.

Please send me a PM if possible; I want to know if it's similar to what I heard.

But what can we do? I dont think I could stop going even tho Im tempted cause it makes me mad, its still nice to spend time over there off and on. I dont want to give up my pass.
Send a letter to TDO perhaps? Contact local news stations? I dont think they care too much, so how exactly do we voice were upset beyond here?
Would love to find an effective way that is to the point but professional at the same time.

Small grassroot campaigns have grown to nationwide campaigns.. Why niot this?? Why not try?? We may fail.. We may succeed beyond our wildest dreams.. We won't know unless we try... Jump on board... The revolution is nearing!!!

This is the beginning of the end of TDO's crap! I would be on that site 24/7!!! But will this just be all online? Or will there be actual live events?

We need to start off small and hope the SaveWDW army grows... Advertising, podcast appearances.. just the beginning... Orlando Sentinel would eat this up... I bet ya they would love to do an article about this.... The noise we can make, if we try, can be loud.. Phil Holmes radio in his Escalade wouldn't be able to drown out the calls for his resignation!!!

I think it will be an "all of the above" choice. Enough is enough.

Let's get the site going first... Let's get members to join the Revolution.... Then who knows how far we can carry this... Imagine the power of 1000 annual passholders ripping up their renewal letters in front of the monorail, or in front of the entrance to MK or Epcot or 1000 at each!!!!

Ok, maybe I am dreaming big time here... but I like to have faith that the WDW fans can be as loud and as passionate as DL fans are...

Not the Meet and Greet. The Phase II Tink Ride...APPARENTLY. Nothing is official yet. Everyone is freaking out over some media moguls musings.:lol:

I'm not nervous, yet.
No news is good news. Wait for proof, and chill.

:sohappy::lol: I love the passion and voice in these posts.

I am waiting to see if this is just a cut in Phase 2 or a cut in what we already been told and shown... And of course, who is involved in the cutting... Phil? Meg? BOTH??? We aren't freaking out.. We are just saying enough is enough.. This is a long time coming... You'e on board, glad to have ya!!!!

If the FL expansion is scaled back, it won't be announced at a stockholders' meeting or anywhere else. It will just happen.

Corporations don't hold presentations to say they're backtracking on something they previously announced with pomp and fanfare. They just backtrack and wait for somebody else to figure it out.

And if it happens, SaveWDW Army will be loud.. Phil and Meg will have headaches we'll be so loud....

Just stand up with us and say WE AREN'T GOING TO TOLERATE THIS NONSENSE ANYMORE!!!!!

I agree. Keep preparing. Have you heard from or contacted Kevin Yee? He posted here a few days ago and he has a new posting at mice age. He has cred, lives locally, has contacts at TDO and was the first to document the slide I believe. He would be a great assest to your site if you could land him.

What thread did he post in??? I'd like to contact him...

This isn't D-Troops.. :)

What is bothering me most is that they are doing the exact opposite strategy at DL and it's working almost too well!

And I don't want to hear anyone saying it's because DL has more locals, AP's, or "they have to" garbage anymore. WDW proved for 25 years that consistently adding quality attractions was a winning strategy. They just need to return to it. And soon!

At this point in the game, I am almost assuredly thinking that DISNEY never wavered from that for TOO long, seeing that even DL had a dry patch. However, it is ever more apparent that it's TDO doing this.

I remember reading a blog about two years ago that described a scenario where all the attractions in central Florida might decide to play nice and cooperate and this might be a very smart business strategy. It was written by a person that was involved with a company that actually promoted this strategy. In other words, TWWoHP is good for WDW because without spending a dime WDW will get overflow for the first few years it's open. And vice versa when the new FL opens for Uni and SW. It made me sick to read but I'm really wondering if this is not actually happening.

It's also possible local and state governments are leaning on WDW to not "over compete" with the other attractions because they provide jobs and most important, taxes.

There is something odd in Disney's behavior, I just can't put my finger on it with complete confidence. :veryconfu

People are freaking out because Al Lutz said that PH and the technology heavy (so I've heard) Tink Dark Ride has been cut from the FLE. Meanwhile Al has listed no concrete proof and has been wrong in the past.

Again, his wording is much more ominous than the summary you just gave:

"and the budget for the WDW version of that ride [Tink] has been slashed and burned as part of Team Disney Orlando's retrenchment on their recently scaled back Fantasyland expansion."

I agree... The wording is ominous....

If the only thing cut is Pixie Hollow, but everything else is good to go, then fine.. i can live without Pixie Hollow.. but, if we get a LOT less than the plans announced at D23, well then.... :fork:

I think a petition on the site you can send someone (Lassetter?) will help, too. Most people will be more willing to contribute anonymously, but it will be what pushes them into getting more active/vocal. If you get enough people yelling they'll listen. Embarrass the big boys, not just TDO... they have no shame, after all.
