Brilliant move. Now everyone has a set time to watch on Tuesdays, can build hype, have people engaging online in real time, etc.

I think the streaming shows are loosing that engagement factor. This was for sure a great idea. It also allows you not to get spoilers unless you wait up till 3am (eastern).

Absolutely. No reason they need to follow some silly 12am release model.

I like the change, my only slight concern would be that I hope it doesn’t crash the servers from too many people accessing it at once. Which is mitigated with the overnight release time.

If I remember right, WandaVision also caused some issues for D+. I remember staying up till 3am est every week to watch it.

So, in theory, I really like the idea of this. But, it seems weird to make this announcement like 4 days before it is supposed to debut. I wonder why they didn't just announce it like this from the beginning.

That seems like a very stupid marketing push to me. I'd think your goal would be to say how many people you got to watch the debut night (in large part to seel advertisers for future opening shows), and I can honestly say if I wasn't on this board, I'd have no idea they changed the opening date.

This is awesome news! As much as I wanted to wake up early and watch Ahsoka before work, having it premiere on Tuesday evening makes it a whole ton better!

They might change the date because something they want to compete with is on Tuesday, or something they don't want to compete with is on Wednesday.

I think they are trying to figure out how to make it “destination television” and have engaged online discussion the way the had for The Mandalorian and WandaVision

For sure. I think the 9pm time slot will encourage viewers to sit down and watch it at release time. It’s almost like we’re circling back to traditional TV.
