Ahsoka (Star Wars Disney+ Series)

Just finished both episodes. Visuals are great! I think the casting choices for Hera & Sabine are also fantastic. I think the story is moving a little slow but that could just be me being impatient.

I look forward to the rest of the series and can’t wait to see where the story goes from here.

I think Baylan is a very interesting new character. He seems a little hesitant about all of this, like when he discusses killing Ahsoka. I hope we get to see more of his back story from his time in the order.

I was hesitant of the theory that Ezra is the inquisitor (Marrok) but I could see that playing out.

I’m in. I thought the first episode dragged more than it needed to but overall I’m pretty happy.

I realize I probably need to rewatch Rebels again sometime.

Should we have a separate spoiler thread?

Seeing mixed reviews, but that's pretty meaningless right now considering no one has seen more than a couple episodes.

Is this expected to just be one season and conclude Ashoka story in the upcoming Mandoverse film?

I don’t think they’ve really said much on this front. Personally I wouldn’t expect it to be more than one season. I think they’ll pull all the stories into the Mandoverse film. But at the same time we have no idea when that film is planned for and Mando is getting another season. So time will tell

So, one thing I do think is interesting is that this show really makes the assumption that you are familiar with Clone Wars/Rebels and earlier live action shows. Not an issue in my household, but I wonder if this is really doing to turn off "casuals" who may not be all that familiar with the past series. I feel like some brief backstory/context with the characters might have been warranted but it can be tough to thread that needle.

I wonder if a Star Wars version of the "Marvel Studios Legends" might have been in order

Sitting at a 94% on RT with critics which seems to be solid at this point. 86% audience which, when you consider that this is a female-led SW show in an age where SW is being hated on, that's pretty good. We KNEW there would be massive review bombing and there's no such thing as verified audiences with TV shows, so that's solid.

Looks like they have a winner with this one!

@doctornick a SW version of Legends would be a GREAT idea moving forward!

She is an established character from the Clone Wars. I doubt there will be any review bombing for this one

I am not sure about that…I have seen the usual YouTube suspects complaining about women in space…it’s like they don’t even try to hide their sexism anymore
