After wishes magic goes away fast

Im sorry. Some may disagree with me but those who complain about crowds at Disney are just as annoying as those who complain about the heat there.
ITS FLORIDA AND ITS SUMMER! IT GETS HOT!
ITS DISNEY WORLD. IT GETS CROWDED! DEAL WITH IT!

I'm sure these are directed at the OP and not the rest of us because we agree with you. The OP is the only one upset over them. And agreeing that the crowd levels are huge and the parks are packed is not the same as complaining about it.

You are correct sir except there are a few others posting here with the same feelings.
I think more of my comment was meant for this...

i agree this is a major issue! i actually used the F word during exit last time. please forgive me if any of your children were around.

As an adult you should have better self control around children. To see a teenager or young adult lose control would be normal. However once you reach a certain age I think acting out like this should go away. I have been in the same jams at Disney and not once did I feel like Disney is the root of all evil because of it.

Just my opinion.

I remember being stuck waiting for a ferry at the end of the day in Magic Kingdom last year (right after The Main Street Electrical Parade). The monorail was down and wouldn't be back up for the rest of the night. So we all cattle herded over to the ferry docks. After about 15 minutes I just looked around me (I'm 6'5" so I can see pretty far over people's heads) and I just started laughing uncontrollably. It was the biggest mess I had seen in a while but it was hilarious to me at the time. But all that did was add fuel to the fire most people kept stoking about having to wait. LOL A couple behind me kept saying "Well I've never seen such a huge pain in the *** as this in my entire life." My wife turned around and told them "If you want to see a bigger one then look in a mirror because everyone around you is tired of listening to your complaints and how this is affecting you. And stop cussing. You sound like a child looking for attention." LOL Don't ever, ever, mess with a redhead. :ROFLOL:

Where is the like button?? Oh this aint Facebook.

If people wouldn't focus all the time on the negative stuff then you just might have a better vacation. And I honestly think that if you are an adult then you should watch your potty mouth when surrounded with kids. When kids see adults lose it then they think its okay for them to lose it too. Be a good example guys!! :)

In her defense though she did say that it was only the third time in like 53 years. That's pretty understandable given the circumstances. And I think we have all been to that breaking point. Still, I know what you mean. As a parent I would just assume that she does that all the time. :)

whatever you do, DO NOT enter Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours when wishes is going on and over........been there....it is not pretty.

As thousands of people go one way, and you try to go the other....horrible! I will never do that again!

If that does happen, try to walk into the Emporium and walk up through the store or take a little time to look around. Its way better than inching up main street getting pushed and clumped and hot...bleh!

I don't mind crowds....its when the crowd is moving I don't like. lol

Your better option is actually to go to the other side of the street and start at the confectionary. You'll have to duck in and out of some stores but it gets less crowded than the Emporium does. When you get past the Main Street Bakery turn right and head the back way into Tomorrowland via the entrance to Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. I've done it many a time for the second showing of parades and stuff and that's the way I've always found easiest. =)

they could help the congestion problem around the castle area if they approached these crowds like they do the park itself during christmas week. when we were there a few years ago the week of christmas they had, for instance ropes (like the kind they use during the parade) to separate walking spaces like the wooden walkway going between frontierland, haunted mansion, and splash/thunder mountain. they had ropes down the middle and tape arrows running "traffic" in specific directions. they had this up in fantasyland as well. it's slow moving because of the sheer number of people but it's moving without feeling like you're waging war. if they did something similar in the castle/main st area for fireworks it wouldn't be the massive (insert words of choice here) that it is nightly. just my opinion.

Solution = ban the complainers. Problem solved. To think that you can go to the #1 vacation resort for a NIGHT time fireworks show and encounter a crowd and then have them cuss and complain about it being crowded. Really!

that was my point exactly. if i have reached the age of 53 and uttered the word 2-3 times, i have a fair amount of self control. takes a WHOLE lot to get me to lose that self control. this scenario did.

no, i'm not proud of it....hence the written apology in my post, but obviously, a WHOLE lot of unnecessary "stuff" going on trying to get out of that park. There MUST be a better way.

It takes at least an hour to setup all of the ropes/stanchions and tape arrows to get everything prepped for when it is real busy. It's simply not busy enough to bring all the extra CMs in every night to do that. On July 4th, there were about 50 CMs just from Fantasyland working in front of the Castle and on the bridge heading towards the Teacups.

Though it sucks to herded like cattle to the exit, there is only so much Disney can do because everyone turns around after watching Wishes and then proceeds to leave. Like others have said the best thing to do is find a bench and take a seat and wait until the rush is over to leave or watch Wishes somewhere near the train station so you can be the first one out.

Or better yet...watch Wishes (for free! don't even need park admission!) from the Ferry landing at the TTC.

From there, you actually get the full view that they show on TV - which is very difficult to get from within the park.

I've watched various holiday fireworks from hard-ticket events this way as well, and last I knew they even piped the music across the lake so you could hear it well enough.

People are seriously blaming Disney for being too crowded now? I've heard it all! :brick:

Sometimes YOU have to take responsibility for works best for you. YOU find a way to deal with the crowds that best fits your family. Disney is doing what they feel is best for them. If it doesn't fit YOUR specific need then YOU find out what works best for YOU. If you have to sacrifice seeing the fireworkds because kids will be a wreck then so be it. Don't expect YOUR situation to take priority over the 30K plus people there. Stop blaming someone else for your inconviences. Would you rather be stuck in disney for 30 mins in a crowd or stuck in rush hour traffic? Relax and enjoy the time on vacation!

YES to all of the above. There was a post on another DISney forum board where a poster complained about leaving MNNSHP and being jostled, kids almost burned by cigarette, waiting in huge ferry lines, etc. and blamed it all on Disney. ???? where is your personal responsibility in CHOOSING to leave in the midst of a huge crowd?

While Disney does a great job in crowd control and moving enormous numbers of people from place to place they cannot be responsible for your experiences when you choose to put your family in the middle of a crowd that is full of narcissistic selfish people that all believe the Disney park experience should be catered to THEIR needs rather than the needs of the larger whole.

A park ticket is not a guarantee for you to experience all attractions and events...its an opportunity for you to choose the ones that suit your family's needs within the framework of Disney's schedule. In choosing to leave after wishes along with thousands of others you are willingly subjecting yourself to the dynamics of any large crowd being funneled into chokepoints that are inevitably there.

Stop pointing the finger at Disney and demanding changes that suit YOUR needs and learn to adapt your family within the framework of their well published schedules.

Now hold on, I think there is blame to go around...I don't think Disney is completely without fault, they've had crowds of this size for years now, but there has not been much effort to alleviate the crowd problems.

Disney definitely realizes there is a problem, because otherwise they would never open the backstage area for letting extra crowds leave the park, however they've made very little effort past that. Now I don't know how many days per year this happens, but I've seen it MANY times.

You want to see magic go away fast, introduce thousands of guests to a backstage area nightly....that would NEVER have been accepted if Walt was around.

So you acknowledge that there is congestion and that Disney occasionally does something to alleviate congestion and then you condemn it for doing so?

We always stop at the ice cream shop on Main Street, get an ice cream, sit and relax. then work our way towards the exit, browsing in stores. Sometimes we stay for the kiss goodnight, sometimes not. But we avoid a lot of the crowd this way.

One should not use the word NEVER. Probably not a good idea to shout it either. People said men would never walk on the moon and look how that turned out. Additionally, no one has a clue as to what would and would not be accepted if Walt were around. It may be nice to believe he would be able to solve all the problems of WDW, but there is nothing tangible to support or disprove that claim.

I do agree however, that there seems to have been little to no attention given as to how to move the huge crowds out of the Magic Kingdom. Disney World appears to be a victim of its own success. When it was designed I doubt it the engineers had these types of crowds in mind would appear on a daily basis.

Our personal option is to sit down and wait until the crowd thins out before leaving or leave a bit early and watch Wishes from outside the park.

You know what else I hate... traffic. Why should I have to sit in traffic on my way to work? Everyone who drives on the road should have their own lane. It's only fair.

exactly!!! it is just amazing to me that people will find anything to complain about. i have 3 kids, 5,3 and 7 months, and if they got tired they'd lay their head on mom and dads shoulder. it's all part of the experience and what you want to make of it. do you go to disney thinking it's not going to be crowded or do you go to have a great time and have a ton of memories. i wouldnt change any of our memories of carrying a sleeping child out of a park for anything, no matter how much trouble it may have been. sticking around after fireworks and letting it clear out does make it easier but either way you decide to do it, it's a magical moment just being at the park.

How I deal with the mass exit is just except it and don't let it ruin your day. I've paid too much money and traveled too far to let a huge crowd spoil the experience.
